Some of you may know that Charlotte recently lost her twin sister - Hayley Nash, aged just 36, who fought addiction her entire life.

Interestingly, long before we knew we’d face this loss, we had already planned to create a memorial tree area here at Nash Farm - a place where trees can be planted in memory of loved ones. It feels even more meaningful now. Hayley will be the first tree planted there when the area is ready.

We’re hoping to have the area ready early next year by spring, so if anyone local has lost someone and would like a tree planting in their memory, please DM us and we’ll add you to the list. You’d just need to provide your own tree or sapling - we’ll take care of the planting and the land. A living tribute in a beautiful piece of Welsh countryside.

This also ties into our wider plans for wellbeing days and events here at Nash Farm. A place for people to come, breathe, reflect, and feel connected to something real. Addiction affects so many families and communities, and we want Nash Farm to be a place that supports people struggling, whether that’s through nature, community, or just having somewhere peaceful to come.

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please reach out. You’re not alone.

Welcome to all our new followers!

Really glad you found us. Nash Farm is a 3-acre sustainable project in Bontnewydd, mid Wales - traditional skills, heritage growing, livestock, and a small campsite, all being built from the ground up by a small but growing community of like minded people.

Have a browse through our posts to see what we've been up to, and don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to get involved or just want to know more.

Another big thank you to Rin Tintin for sending up some plants for the farm - willow, a sedum and a goji berry have all arrived safely!

The willow will be going in as part of our living hedgerow, and the goji berry is a brilliant addition to what we're growing here. Every plant counts when you're starting from bare land.

Rin continues to support Nash Farm even from a distance and we're really grateful. Thank you!

A huge thank you to Lesley Scobie for gifting us some fertile quail eggs! They went straight into the incubator and we're already seeing results - 2 have hatched so far!

It's early days but they're doing well. More hopefully on the way!

This is exactly what the Nash Farm Project is about - people coming together and supporting each other. Thank you Lesley, it means a lot.

A massive thank you to Rin Tintin and Sheri for coming to stay at Nash Farm last weekend! It was brilliant to have you both here, and we really appreciated all the ideas, enthusiasm and conversation you brought with you.

Even after leaving they've continued to support and help the project from a distance, which means a lot. That's the kind of community spirit this place is all about.

A few pics from the visit below!

The commune is coming together — Historic character meets everything you need, nothing you don't.

Washing machine, fridge freezer, Eggs from our own hens, and spices gathered from near and far; allspice berries, ginger, cloves, and our own Llanrhystud grey salt — straight from the beach 7 miles away.

Lewis Pidoux's foraging book sits open for anyone who wants to explore what grows beyond the door.

Oh, and a separate toilet and shower room too.

This is what we've been building. Nearly there.

Quick Progress Update

Weather's still not the best, but we've had a dry day or two which has been brilliant. Apparently we're due some longer dry spells coming up - fingers crossed!

Simon and I have been doing bits here and there. The communal area with sink, cooking area, toilet, shower, and fridge is almost done.

We've built a couple of log stores and tidied up a bit around the place.

We chatted about the parachute canopy today - hoping to get that done within the next week or two, weather permitting.

Slowly but surely getting things sorted!

First Volunteer Arrived!
Our first volunteer Simon turned up on Friday and we've been progressing well between the rain showers!

We've built a log store, tidied up a bit, and started getting things properly organised.

While it has been raining a lot, it certainly feels like the weather's taking a turn for the better. Getting the odd bits of sunshine is great and reminds me of what a lovely place this is in the spring/summer - it's certainly worth it!

Two more volunteers expected in the next couple of weeks. Things are really starting to move now!
