There is something truly special about watching fathers completely unplug from the digital world and reconnect with nature 🌲

Whether it was teaching the kids how to tend to the log burner, sharing stories over a morning brew, or exploring the quiet woodland trails together, we hope the day was filled with hard-earned peace and relaxation. Just like the deep roots of the pines surrounding our off-grid bothies, fathers provide that steady, quiet strength we all appreciate so much. 💚

There is something undeniably magical about watching the sun go down over Tomnaverie Stone Circle on a night like tonight. For thousands of years, people have gathered at these ancient monuments to mark the changing seasons, watching the light align perfectly over the distant peaks of Lochnagar in the Cairngorms National Park.

Catching the final hours of the longest day of the year… 🌅✨

Happy Summer Solstice from all of us at Cairngorm Bothies! While we are winding down in the forest watching the midsummer twilight roll in, we’ve been reflecting on this beautiful daytime shot of the ancient East Aquhorthies Stone Circle near Inverurie.

Aberdeenshire’s historic monuments have stood for thousands of years to mark changing seasons exactly like this one. For our guests, taking a daytime trip to explore East Aquhorthies before heading back to the peace of their off-grid bothy is the ultimate slow-travel ritual—unplugging from the digital noise and tuning into nature. 🌲🪵
