Huge congratulations to Danny Young for placing No. 2 on The Herald ‘The 50 Most Exciting Chefs Working in Scotland in 2026’ list!

Since joining The Torridon in 2024, Danny has gone from strength to strength. From winning National Chef of the Year 2025 to leading the 1887 restaurant to its first Michelin Star and Michelin Green Star in February 2026.

The list was compiled from leading hospitality figures, food and drink writers, and content creators from all across Scotland. It’s an honour for our head chef to be recognised amongst such incredible talent in the Scottish hospitality scene.

From the depths of the Highlands to the summit of Sgurr Mor.

Local langoustine joins chopped chives, homemade mayonnaise flavoured with dill and a touch of caviar, alongside a gel made from lemony yuzu fruit, all assembled on a brioche roll baked in-house.

A land defined by uncompromising terrain ⛰️

Did you know the Torridonian sandstone forming the peaks around our hotel dates back over 750 million years? This landscape was once part of the same continent as North America and Greenland, carved from the ancient rocks of the Laurentian Shield.

For the experienced adventurer, three great mountain ranges can be found to the north of Glen Torridon: Beinn Alligin, Liathach, and Beinn Eighe. Each hosts two Munros (peaks over 3,000 feet), offering a total of six summits to explore.
