🏕️🍽️ A stay at Care Ashore comes with great food too!

Whether you're joining us in one of our guest rooms or enjoying a break on our campsite, you can also enjoy delicious, freshly prepared meals in our dining room.

Last week, guests tucked into a fantastic selection of dishes including Cajun chicken, sirloin steak, traditional fish and chips, chilli and wedges, slow-roasted braised beef and a classic Sunday roast, all served with a range of delicious sides and accompaniments.

After a day exploring the Estate, relaxing by the lake or enjoying the countryside, there's nothing better than sitting down to a hearty home-cooked meal.

🌅 Not a bad view to wake up to this morning...

As the sun rose over the Care Ashore estate, staff and campers alike were treated to this stunning autumn scene. With golden sunshine, open countryside and fresh morning air, it was the perfect start to the day.

Whether enjoying a peaceful morning coffee outside a touring caravan, taking an early stroll around the grounds, or heading into work, moments like these remind us how special our estate is. 💙

Celebrating 80 years at Springbok! 🎉 ⛺

Care Ashore recently celebrated 80 years at the Springbok Estate in Surrey, a place that has provided accommodation and support for former seafarers and their dependants since 1946.

Today, Springbok is not only home to our residents, but also welcomes campers and caravanners looking to enjoy a break in the Surrey countryside.

Planning a stay at Care Ashore? There’s plenty to explore both on the doorstep and a little further afield.

You can walk or cycle directly from the Springbok Estate, following footpaths and bridleways through woodland and open fields or alongside the Wey and Arun Canal.

If you fancy a day out, local attractions include Winkworth Arboretum NT, Fishers Farm Park, Petworth, National Trust and the South Downs National Park, with the coast also within easy reach ☀️

Important notice: Fishing lake temporarily closed 🎣

Due to the current high temperatures, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close the fishing lake at the Springbok Estate.

The health and welfare of our fish must come first, and the extreme heat can place significant stress on them. Closing the lake will help protect the fish during these challenging conditions.

We’ll continue to monitor conditions closely and reopen the lake as soon as it is safe to do so.

What a weekend! 🎶

We were delighted to welcome the Alfold Rock and Blues Festival to Care Ashore, with campers, music lovers and visitors enjoying a fantastic few days in the sunshine.

Our campsite and facilities were the perfect base for the event, and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying great live music, relaxing with friends and calling in at The Springbok Grill for something tasty to eat.
