A pre-dessert with eleven components: buttermilk pannacotta and almond crumb, peach sorbet and peach gel, compressed peach in thyme syrup, and three textures of snow. It's peach melba, taken apart and put back together — the work of Head Chef Simon Ulph, whose Michelin pedigree and ingredient-led approach shape every menu at Rowan, on the tasting menu now.

Sweetbread, pickled carrot, hazelnut, roast chicken sauce. New on the à la carte menu at Rowan — open to non-residents, seven days a week. If you've never ordered sweetbreads before, this is the one to start with: golden and crisp on the outside, soft in the middle, served with pickled carrot to cut through the richness, toasted hazelnut for texture, and a roast chicken sauce that does most of the talking. We know sweetbreads can feel like a leap, so if you're curious but not quite convinced, ask us when you arrive — the team are very happy to talk you through it.
