School's out, and it's holiday time again. What a dramatic weekend we had! This time of year is a good one to get away, and if you want a bracing game of golf, there's a course just across the road. Or if you want something more leisurely, try afternoon tea at Appleby Manor (there's a spa there too).

What's not to love! Reasons to have your holiday home with us:

Pennines & Yorkshire Dales – The Pennine Way is a popular National Trail – you can walk up and around High Cup Nick and Murton Fell from our doorstep. The Yorkshire Dales is less than 20 minutes and the traditional market towns of Kirkby Stephen and Hawes (and Wensleydale Creamery) are close by too. Whether it is a quiet wander to Flakebridge Wood or a more taxing fell walk, there’s something for all.

Tomorrow is World Food Day. Quite an appropriate topic right now. As farmers, we are always battling the elements, but like many other businesses, we are also facing rising costs, including diesel! Can you ever imagine an electric tractor working in rural Cumbria? We are proud to be farming in Eden. Appleby has some great food shops including Low Howgill Butchers & Deli. Steve and Jenny sell meat from their family farm and other local producers and we love their pies too. A great example of a local business which looks after their local community too.

It may have been on Monday, but here at Langton Field, we like to think it is habitat day every day of the year. Our first orchard is fruiting, and our more recently planted trees have done well in their early years - despite the heat of the summer. As custodians of the land, we want to leave it a better place for our children and for generations to come.

A great way to start the weekend - with some great news.

We're pleased to welcome 2 new families to the park. They've chosen their caravans and their plots, and we look forward to welcoming them to our park. With just 19 plots, we have a lovely little community, but there's still room for a couple more people to enjoy the luxury of peace and quiet, fabulous views, and great walks from the door.

Hello Autumn!
There was definitely a nip in the air this morning, but what an inspirational day to go for a walk. At this time of year, many people come to the Lake District and the Pennines to walk, relax, and enjoy the wonderful colours Autumn brings.

We got an early autumn surprise - a visit from a little French Partridge. Did you know that this red-legged partridge was introduced to the UK from western Europe during the 1700s as a new gamebird? Like all partridges, when disturbed, they prefer to run rather than fly, but they will fly short distances.
