Honeymoon Review❤️ Mayfield Snuggery Lodges

A fabulous recommendation of a special occasion stay in one of our beautiful hot tub lodges✨

“We recently stayed in Duck Two Water Lodge at Mayfield Snuggery for our honeymoon, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we’d made the right choice. We were welcomed by Jason’s dad, who showed us how to operate the hot tub and the blinds, and we had a lovely chat about how they built all of the lodges. It was fascinating to hear the story behind them, and you can really appreciate the care and craftsmanship that has gone into every detail.
There was also a fantastic welcome pack waiting for us with everything you could possibly need to know, including how to use all of the facilities, recommended places to eat, local takeaways, and things to do in the area. It made settling in so easy.
The lodge itself is built to an incredibly high specification and is absolutely immaculate—not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. Every room was pristine. It had everything you could want and more: a washer, dishwasher, coffee machine, sauna, hot tub with a Smart TV, a TV in the bathroom, and a stunning double shower. Every little detail has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible.
We were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco, and later that day we were surprised with a beautiful card, balloon, and a box of chocolates to celebrate our honeymoon. It was such a thoughtful touch and made our stay even more special. During our stay, Ruby even messaged us to let us know she’d left us a cake by the hot tub as a little treat and checked if we needed anything. The customer service was exceptional and made us feel genuinely cared for.
It was also reassuring to know that the hot tubs are checked twice daily to ensure they are perfectly maintained, which really shows the pride and attention to detail.
We spent our days exploring the local area, including Ashbourne, where we found a fantastic pub called the Bowling Green Steakhouse. We also enjoyed a day in Matlock and another at Carsington Water, where we hired bikes and rode around the reservoir. Everything was so reasonably priced, making it a brilliant place to visit.
We honestly can’t recommend Mayfield Snuggery highly enough. The lodges are worth every single penny, and it’s clear that everyone involved takes immense pride in what they do. The quality of the accommodation, the thoughtful personal touches, and the outstanding hospitality made our honeymoon unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back and stay again!
