We're excited for bonfire night this Saturday Nov 7th. Our stall will be out again selling baked potatoes with fillings including chilli, cheese, beans, coleslaw and hot soup & bread rolls. We'll have a selection of fabulous homemade crocheted bobble hats in various colours/sizes from The Little Shop of Fabrics to keep you warm as you watch the fireworks (or maybe for a Christmas gift).
Pizzas & Burgers available indoors, all followed by live music from 8pm with Azzlan.

We have a round 1 Winner!! Congratulations to Luke on selecting winning teams for the last 4 weeks. Your prize pot awaits when you next pop in Luke.

Round two starts this coming weekend, so entrants will need to have paid their £5 entry fee for round 2 (not £5 a week - £5 per round), and select a team from this weeks matches before 8pm on Friday evening please.

25% of the pot will be donated to Smarden Sports Association, last man standing takes remaining 75%.

Out Trick or Treating on Saturday evening? Then why not take a pit stop at The Chequers Inn, where we'll be handing out treats for the little ones and offering Teas, Coffees, Hot Chocolates and Halloween Punch (non-alcoholic) all at £2.00 a mug/glass to keep you refreshed on the way round. From 5-7pm.

The Thai Red Chicken Curry was a huge hit last week and there's a new batch waiting for anyone that missed out. New this week is a Beef Rendang curry - a Malaysian dry curry made with beef short-rib, coconut milk, chilies, lemongrass, galangal, and aromatic spices. This curry remains one of Southeast Asia’s most iconic dishes due to its depth of flavor, cultural heritage, and unique slow-cooking technique. Served with white rice, Naan, poppadum and mango chutney and a complimentary pint of Cobra l***r, house w**e or soft drink of your choice, and all for just £20pp. Add a starter of Thai fishcakes with Asian slaw for an additional £5pp only. Vegetable curry always available for a vegetarian friends.

Round 1 enters its 3rd week and we only have a dozen or so players left in. So if you're one of them and haven't popped in to select your team for this weeks games, then hurry, else you'll automatically be allocated the bottom of the league team (Sunderland). Good luck!

Something a little different this week. As well as a mild creamy chicken curry, or our vegetable curry both served with jasmine rice, poppadum, naan bread and mango chutney, we have a Red Thai Chicken Curry served with coconut rice,and flat bread. Any curry plus a complementary pint of b**r or a glass of house w**e or a soft drink of your choosing for just £20 pp. Or why not make it a Thai inspired night and add our starter of Thai cod and prawn fishcakes served with Asian slaw for an all in two course meal for just £25pp (incl comp drink)
