"We all loved it again and have re-booked for next year. We had plenty of fish even though the weather wasn't ideal — 40 carp to 28lb and a load of tench up to 7lb. Thanks for another great week. We're back in 59 days!"

There's something special about tench fishing in May. The mornings are still cool, the water is clearing, and those olive-green fighters are worth chasing.

Our lakes hold a good head of tench alongside the carp. They're not always easy, but that's what makes a fish here worth having.

From stripy perch to roach and rudd, our lakes offer brilliant sport fishing year-round. Not everything has to be a 30-pounder.

Not every stay has to be about the fish 🌿

Kay stayed at our Old Farm Flat and spent her days walking to the Woolpack Inn, watching kestrels hunting the fields, and catching black tench and rudd on the lake. She called it "delightful" and with views like these, we completely understand.
