Last week's sea kayak exped undertook a classic journey exploring the isles of Raasay & Rona. With a forecast for rain and sunshine, the team were hoping for more of the latter!

After packing their kayaks they launched into a stiff south westerly, and before long had to set up camp and tarp. The journey took the team east and north towards Rona, accompanied by gray and common seals, black guillemots, white-tailed sea eagles, black-backed gulls, heron, and more wildlife

The final night was enjoyed at a local pub with celebratory beers and a local dram!

The Scottish Islands Peaks Race is one of the most iconic endurance events in the UK. This year, Instructors Emma Holgate and Ross Creber both took part - Emma for the first time and Ross as part of the winning team - well done both!

Last week's Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor Training (Part 1) course had a mix of conditions, with some enjoyable dry sunny days for multi-pitch climbing at Polldubh and Glencoe. Followed by introduction to short roping with a chance to explore, experiment, learn and practice.

What does our Cairngorm Classic Rock course involve? Climbing whichever routes you choose! Last weekend, this is what the team got up to:

✅ Day 1: Aladdin's Buttress - Magic Crack and Genie
✅ Day 2: Huntley's Cave - Diagonal, Double Overhang, Cave Route, Slot Direct, Pete's Wall
✅ Day 3: Left rock shoes behind and opted for a big boot ascent of Savage Slit
