Well a very lively storm (and still ongoing). 60ft tree down just by Cottage. Has fallen onto a new piece of lower patio causing damage. Grrrr.....A bit of fence damage (allowing opportunity for gate!¡!! and other bits and pieces. Not going to bother posting all trees and major branches down.

Unfortunately, this type of storm and rain will also weaken other trees, so more damage likely.

Incredibly, our new Heallth and wellbeing area, including geodome remains intact. Well done R8 groundwork’s and landscaping LTD

Well, we are currently investing a huge amount of money to put in proper paths across an area of our Doonbank woodland garden for guests thanks to Robbie Knox and the R8 Groundworks and Landscaping team. There is a lot to do, and rain is causing big problems, so bear with us. Well, it's that time of year. Most of the honey that the girls are allowing us to take is now off, and we are starting to process. Time now to prep them for winter. With the colonies reducing from 50k bees, to just 10k, we should just have time to knit them all woolly pullys, scarves and bobble hats for the cold winter months.

We take guest car security very seriously, which is why our highly trained and expert security personnel keep their nose to the ground, although lieing down on the job is seen as a perk of the role.

Well Millie has been brooding for nearly a month. I make sure that 3 or 4 times a day I get her out to water and feed, but the girl ain't be for shifting, so time for a more radical intervention to break the brrody tendencies. She is going to spend 2 days in what was the cage of shame (for bully chickens) Now the cage is sitting on a trolley. The extra airflow will cool her tummy and there is no nesting materials to 'nest' with, instead having to perch on the dog crate metal grid floor. Food and drink provided, and the other girls can keep a close eye, although she is totally safe. Always hard to see weight change, as chickens plump themselves up when ill or nesting, so they look big, but she has lost a lot of weight, so plenty of treats en route :)
