Well Millie has been brooding for nearly a month. I make sure that 3 or 4 times a day I get her out to water and feed, but the girl ain't be for shifting, so time for a more radical intervention to break the brrody tendencies. She is going to spend 2 days in what was the cage of shame (for bully chickens) Now the cage is sitting on a trolley. The extra airflow will cool her tummy and there is no nesting materials to 'nest' with, instead having to perch on the dog crate metal grid floor. Food and drink provided, and the other girls can keep a close eye, although she is totally safe. Always hard to see weight change, as chickens plump themselves up when ill or nesting, so they look big, but she has lost a lot of weight, so plenty of treats en route :)
