🙌 We are thrilled to share that Sam Reay will be returning to the park as our new Office and Customer Services Manager!

Many of our York House community will already know Sam well, as she was an integral part of our management team for nine fantastic years from 2013 to 2022, where she played a huge role in shaping the standards, service and welcoming atmosphere that so many of our owners, guests and visitors came to know.

During her time away, Sam has continued to develop and strengthen her skills within the hotel industry, gaining further experience in customer care, operational standards, team support and front of house service.

As Office and Customer Services Manager, Sam’s responsibilities will include front of house, hire fleet and sales, and she’ll be working closely with John W, who will be stepping into the role of Park Manager. Alongside them, we are fortunate to have a full and valued team in place: Claire and the team in the coffee shop, Dionne in reception supporting admin and front of house, Alberto and Diane, who have just started with the team, and of course Steve, our ever-present gardener. 🍃

🐾 Join Our Animal Team Volunteer Programme at Monk Park Farm! 🐾

We’re looking for enthusiastic, hands-on volunteers to join our Animal Team and help care for our amazing animals!

If you’re keen to learn, don’t mind getting stuck in, and want to be part of a working farm environment, this could be perfect for you.

What you’ll be doing:
✨ Assisting with feeding and daily care
✨ Cleaning out enclosures and maintaining high welfare standards
✨ Helping move and handle animals safely
✨ Supporting with basic treatments under supervision
✨ Engaging with visitors when needed

Over a 12-week programme, you’ll gain experience across:
🐐 Small animals
🐄 Large animals
🐓 Poultry
🦘 Wallabies

You’ll be paired with a member of our team who will support your development and help build your knowledge and confidence.

What we’re looking for:
✔ A great attitude and willingness to learn
✔ Physically fit and ready for practical work
✔ Confidence to speak with visitors when required
✔ Ability to work independently once trained
✔ Availability for at least 2-3 days per week

🕗 Hours: Start at 8am, finish anytime up to 6pm (varies day to day)
🚗 Important: Own transport is required as we are not on standard public transport routes

Due to high interest, interviews will be held. No prior animal experience is needed—just enthusiasm and commitment.

🌟 We are delighted to welcome back a true Old Barn favourite and say hello again to Claire Batson. Claire was a coffee shop stalwart for a good 7 years and her return is very welcome!

Claire will now be a firm feature on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as popping up here and there on the odd Friday or Monday.

Claire will be ably supported by our vibrant team of Liv, Katie, Jodie and Evie. Happy days for all! 😀
