We are situated in the Snowdonia National Park, close to Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake). We are the newest of the John Lewis Partnership Hotels and have a range of activities for you to take part in if you wish.

Please note that our Food & Beverage services will be unavailable to non-resident guests and day visitors tomorrow due to a private function taking place at the hotel.

The pool and spa will remain open but we will not be able to accommodate food and drink service for visitors during this time.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon. 😊

It’s Friday… so how would you spend your perfect Bala evening? 👇

And speaking of evenings… we’ve got a little something new to share! 👀

Starting next week, we’re trialling additional evening pool sessions for our resident guests:

🕟 4:30pm – 5:30pm every day
🕠 5:45pm – 6:30pm four evenings each week

As these sessions are part of a trial, they can currently be booked in person at Reception by resident guests only. If they’re well used and successful, we’ll look to add them to our online booking system in the future.

We’re always looking at ways to give guests a little more flexibility and make the most of their stay.

☀️ Well… it turns out our large fridge and freezer are far more used to classic Welsh weather than this beautiful heatwave!

Unfortunately, the unusually high temperatures have caused some issues with the units and we are currently awaiting an engineer visit. As a result, we’ve sadly lost a large amount of fresh and prepared food stock.

For today, this means our lunchtime offering will be a slightly reduced menu of snacks, sandwiches and desserts, while this evening our Chef will be serving a specially prepared Table d’Hôte menu instead of the full evening menu.

Our kitchen team are already hard at work prepping, baking and rebuilding stock levels behind the scenes, and we expect to return to our normal menu within the next couple of days.

Thank you so much for your patience, understanding and support while we work through this little heatwave hiccup 💛

☀️ What a Bank Holiday weekend it’s been… glorious sunshine, busy grounds, happy guests and that real feeling of summer finally arriving 🌿💙

While things have been full steam ahead here at Bala Lake Hotel, two of our fantastic Activities Instructors, Keira and Raechelle, headed south to support our sister hotel The Odney Club - JLP - Private Members Club at their Family Fun Day… bringing a little bit of Bala adventure with them ⚡

Our team helped deliver action-packed taster games of Cybertag alongside all the wonderful food, activities and family fun taking place throughout the day… and with weather like this, it really couldn’t have been more perfect ☀️🎯

A huge well done to the Odney team for putting on such a brilliant event, and a big thank you to Keira and Raechelle for representing Team Bala so brilliantly and giving JLP Partners visiting Odney a little taste of the adventure and energy we love so much here in North Wales 💚

Last weekend, the peaceful hills of Bala echoed to the unmistakable sound of Harleys as the Red Rose Chapter of Harley Owners Group joined us at Bala Lake Hotel 🏍️🌿

They explored the stunning roads of North Wales, took the Welsh rain in their stride, and brought plenty of laughter and great company along the way. A fantastic group who fully embraced the Bala spirit.

Thank you for spending the weekend with us… we hope to welcome you back again soon 💙

Now… after one busy weekend, we’re looking forward to another as the Bank Holiday arrives! The grounds are looking great, the patio is ready, and Bala is set for another fantastic few days.
