That's a wrap on our Half Term Haunt 🧡

From creepy crafts and wicked webs to pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating, our little monsters have been busy all week!

We rounded off the fun last night with some fang-tastic costumes, seriously impressive pumpkins and pitches dressed to impress!

And now, a big drumroll for our Halloween competition winners...

😈 Fancy Dress Winner – Eli
Our devilishly good winner went all out with a red devil costume, matching illuminated wheelchair and a frightfully fierce face for the parade!

🧙‍♀️ Fancy Dress Runner-Up – Lilly
A wickedly wonderful witch, complete with fantastic face paint!

🎃 Best Pumpkin Carving – Riley
A pumpkin with personality! Complete with twig arms, carefully carved details and a rather clever hat, Riley's creation was a real showstopper!

🏕️ Best Dressed Pitch – The Verney Family
Archie and Alfie helped transform their pitch into a Halloween masterpiece, complete with glowing decorations and their very own spider's web from Friday's craft workshop! And guess what? They're defending champions from last year! 🏆

A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined in the fun throughout half term. It's been especially lovely seeing so many familiar little faces coming back for more activities throughout the week, bringing plenty of enthusiasm, creativity and Halloween spirit with them!

Happy Halloween, little monsters (and grown-up ghouls too)! 🎃👻

The pumpkins are glowing, the costumes are on and we're ready for a day of Halloween mischief at Applewood!

To everyone joining us for Half Term Haunt, here's what's happening:

🎃 11am-1pm - The Applewood Pumpkin Carve-Off
🍬 5pm – Trick or Treat Trail
🪦 7pm – Best Dressed Pitch judging
👻 7:30pm – Fancy Dress Parade & Prize-Giving

We can't wait to see your creative costumes and spooktacular pitch decorations!

A HUGE thank you to our Spooky Crew! 👻

Rain, wind and a whole lot of Halloween mischief… Saturday certainly kept our Spooky Crew on their toes!

From helping our littlest monsters master their spooky skills at Friendly Frights, to delivering eerie encounters and thrilling surprises along the Wicked Haunts Trail, our brilliant performers brought two very different Halloween adventures to life.

And despite the weather throwing everything it had at them, they kept the Halloween magic going, giving every character, challenge and spooky surprise their all. Even when they were absolutely soaked!

To every member of our Spooky Crew, THANK YOU. You were frightfully brilliant! 🧡

Applewood Community 1 – Storm Austen 0!

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who ventured out despite the torrid weather to make last night’s Halloween Spooktacular what it was.

When the forecast turned, we worried. Then you arrived, in wellies and waterproofs, still in fancy dress, ready for whatever the night threw at us. You laughed through the rain, screamed on the trail and stood together under the fireworks. You turned a stormy night into something we’ll remember for a long time.

To our incredible team: thank you. To the events team who planned every detail and kept everything running when the weather tried its hardest, and to our brilliant Scareactors who gave every fright their all, soaked through and still in character, you were amazing.

This is what community looks like. Thank you, from all of us at Applewood.

🎃👻 HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR – WE'RE STILL ON!

With the rather soggy and blustery weather forecast for tomorrow, we wanted to share a little update for everyone joining us at Halloween Spooktacular!

As things currently stand, we're planning to go ahead tomorrow, Saturday 24th October, from 4pm–10pm!

Here at Applewood, we're no strangers to the great British weather! We run outdoor events and welcome camping guests throughout the year, so we know that rain, wind and chilly temperatures can all be part of the autumn adventure.

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to make a few adjustments to the event layout, bringing even more of the Halloween fun undercover into Orchard Barn. From our Devilish Disco and Little Monster Games to live music, street food and marshmallow toasting, we're looking forward to creating a fantastic atmosphere with lots happening together in one space! 🧡

Our Friendly Frights, Wicked Haunts and fireworks are also planned to go ahead, subject to conditions being safe on the day.

We're closely monitoring the Met Office forecast and actual conditions on site, and will continue to do so throughout the event.

If the conditions on site tomorrow make it unsafe to open we will make an announcement on our social channels and we will contact all of our guests directly with next steps.

A huge thank you for all your support and lovely messages. We can't wait to welcome you for an evening of family-friendly frights and Halloween adventures! 🎃👻

Choose your favourite from over 36 varieties of pumpkins, hop aboard the Barrel Train and enjoy plenty of family fun while you find the perfect pumpkin to take home and carve 🎃

From Wednesday 28th to Saturday 31st October, we’ve got a week of spooky crafts and Halloween fun lined up, and all the activities are included free with your stay. No booking needed, just drop in.

👻 WED 28th, 3–4pm: Create a boo-tiful ghost picture
🦇 THU 29th, 3–4pm: Make a bat-tastic hanging bat
🕸️ FRI 30th, 4–5pm: The wicked web workshop
🎃 SAT 31st, 11am–1pm: The Applewood Pumpkin Carve-Off (£5 per person, pumpkin included)
