Craven View Shepherds Huts John & Alison have two luxury, dog-friendly shepherd's huts - The Herdsman and The Journeyman are situated above the town of Barnoldswick.

They each have - underfloor heating, ensuite shower room & an outdoor shelter with BBQ & garden stove.

We're always incredibly grateful when guests take the time to leave us such wonderful feedback. 🌼 Knowing they've enjoyed their stay and left feeling relaxed and refreshed means the world to us.

And while we're sharing good news, here's a little sneaky peek of our newest hut, The Drover, now in its final position. There's still plenty to do, but it's starting to come together. We look forward to sharing more updates with you over the coming weeks. 🌞

Taking twice as long to service The Journeyman today after our Bank Holiday guests… I keep stopping to take in that view — it really is something special. We know how lucky we are.

The next stage is underway! 🚜

With the ground finally dry enough, John has pulled our new hut into place today – a big moment for us. The groundwork is done and the patio is already laid, just needing a final level tomorrow.

Next up, we’ll be reinstating the walls and putting the fences back up to bring everything together.

We’re also excited to share the name of our newest addition… The Drover. 🐑

It’s all starting to feel very real now!

Our orphaned lamb George has had a bit of a tough morning and has unfortunately lost his voice — not that it’s slowing him down much! Still full of character as ever, just a little quieter than usual 🥺

We’ll be keeping a close eye on him and giving him lots of extra TLC today.

Spring has certainly arrived up here.
It's been a quiet day on the lambing front so I've been cutting grass around the huts in readiness for our Easter guests.
The daffodils are lining the path to the huts, putting on a bit of a show. It’s one of those simple moments that makes a stay here feel extra special.
Longer days, fresh country air, and views stretching out, looking towards Craven and the Dales… it’s a lovely time to escape for a few nights.

The first lambs of 2026 have arrived at Craven View Shepherd's Huts!

Two beautiful Suffolk-cross lambs, and we’re happy to report that mum and babies are all doing well 💛

The maternity ward is prepped and ready for the rest… now it’s a waiting game. Fingers crossed for a smooth lambing time. 🤞

Beautiful spring mornings like this 🌅

Birds singing, sun rising… and hopefully in the next week or so, the fields will be filled with the sound of newborn lambs 🐑💛
