The Queensberry Hotel

The Queensberry Hotel Luxury Boutique Hotel In Bath Is it possible to find a hotel in Bath combining old-fashioned attitudes to service and detail with sophisticated, modern comfort?
(378)

The Queensberry Hotel, one of the most beautiful hotels in Bath, is run by a husband and wife - Laurence & Helen Beere - who say yes, more than possible, it's positively desirable. There are bigger, though not many more lovely, cities than Bath. There are bigger, though not many more lovely, hotels in Bath than The Queensberry, too, but - with its beautiful design, slightly eccentric layout, styli

sh accommodation and air of relaxed, contemporary attention to detail - it's not just the perfect boutique hotel from which to explore Bath, but somehow exemplifies it, too, as it's also small, attractive and the ideal spot for a gorgeous weekend...

Today is one week before the summer solstice (on Sunday 21st), which will be a whole 8 and three-quarter hours longer than its December opposite; if the weather plays nicely, we can expect just under 16 and a half hours of sun.

There are obviously plenty of ways to enjoy all this (yes, Bath Skyline, Alexandra Park, Solsbury Hill, we’re looking at you … ) but, well, a word here too for the sheer loveliness of outside dining on the terrace …

Well, this is rather lovely.

The Queensberry has been recognised with a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award — which means our little corner of Bath has been making quite a good impression on the people who matter most: our guests.

To everyone who has stayed, slept, supped, reviewed, recommended, returned, or simply said something kind — thank you. Your words help others discover our particular blend of Georgian elegance, warm hospitality and just a touch of the unexpected.

And to our wonderful team: this one is very much yours. Every smile, every perfectly plumped pillow, every carefully poured drink, every “of course we can” moment — it all counts.

We’re delighted, grateful, and ever so slightly puffed up.

Because Graduation Week (starts 13th July) is approaching, and because – NEWSFLASH! – quite a few of you will be coming, thoughts might be turning to what to do, where to stay, how to save on outgoings, etc.

If ONLY there was a dreamy hotel whose rooms you could rely on, with a Michelin Star restaurant fit for celebrating any of life’s milestones. Such a place might even be offering a Stay Put Summer, with 15% off B&B during the week and 10% off on Fridays and Saturdays ...

It’s World Cocktail Day; raise a glass!

Our Old Q Bar prides itself as much as our kitchen does on its shrewdly-sourced ingredients and its expertise and flair in their combination. Today, in 1806, a New York newspaper called The Balance, and Columbian Repository, first described a cocktail as “a stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water, and bitters.” Though others cite earlier examples, it had never previously been defined (and still sounds about right to us … ).

If you think a lot of unwelcome variables are at play right now (which they are), and wonder if plans might fall victim to things outside your control (which they might), then a great time somewhere lovely probably sounds satisfyingly simple. How about a Stay Put Summer? There is SO much to do in Bath it doesn’t sound feasible, and it applies across ages, preferences, times of day, demographics, the works.

Between the 1st of July and the 30th of September, B&B is 15% less during the week, 10% less on Fridays and Saturdays.

Summer without the stress? This could really catch on.

Bathing, baking and a spot of books and bonnets to follow: Bath in Spring time has plenty to recommend it (not least our Bring on the Spring offer). Why not use it to make the most of our Jane Austen Experience (two tickets to the Jane Austen Centre, a tote bag, bed & breakfast), our Thermae Package (a 2-hour ticket to the Spa, bed & breakfast), as well as the Bertinet Kitchen Cooking School – where interesting but easy-going courses await food-lovers of all abilities (and for whom we’re official accommodation-provider).
