Linger

Linger Linger, verb. /ˈlɪŋ.ɡər/ To stay on in a place longer than expected, as if from reluctance to leave. To dwell in contemplation, thought, enjoyment.

Tucked in tight against a hill in the unexplored Lincolnshire Wolds. Sheltered from the East winds by a small, private woodland; our handmade, reclaimed shepherds huts are our tribute to a lost way of life. Switch off from the pressures of modern life and allow yourself a moment or two to reconnect with a time when nature set the pace.

In the last week, there’s been a definite gear shift from the endless, hazy days of summer.

The nights are slowly pulling in, there’s a little nip in the air in the mornings, and the leaves are beginning to turn. Walks call for an extra layer (just in case), and cosying up by the fire is starting to sound like the perfect evening… soon…

The final stretch of summer, with just a hint of what’s to come…

Harvested fields, hedgerows heavy with the season, cooler mornings and that softer September light stretching across the countryside.

There are still afternoons made for sitting outside and golden evenings to linger over - only now, you might find yourself reaching for a blanket as the sun goes down.

Summer isn’t over just yet, and we’re making the most of every last bit of it.

Come and linger a little longer this September - book your next escape via the link in our bio 🤍

There’s something quite special about being hidden away...

George sits quietly at the edge of the meadow, tucked between long grasses, wildflowers and the trees beyond. From here, the rest of the world feels a little further away - no passing traffic, no busy plans, just birdsong through the woodland and the occasional glimpse of wildlife wandering past.

Mornings start slowly, coffee in hand and nowhere you need to be. Afternoons are made for exploring, reading in the sunshine or simply sitting outside and watching the meadow move in the breeze. And as evening draws in, you can retreat back into your little hideaway and let the countryside do what it does best - make everything feel a little quieter.

Sometimes the best places are the ones you have to go looking for.

Come and hide away for a while - the link is in our bio 🌿

Breakfast first. The rest of the day can wait

There’s something rather lovely about making breakfast when there’s nowhere you need to be...

Bacon sizzling in the pan, fresh tomatoes, morning light through the window and, when it’s ready, taking it outside to eat in the sunshine.

No grabbing something on the way out. No watching the clock. Just a proper breakfast, made and enjoyed slowly.

It is the most important meal of the day, after all.

Another reason to let your mornings Linger a little longer 🤍

The kind of luxury that feels a little different out here...

An outdoor shower. Open skies. Soft cotton robes and organic shower essentials waiting for you, with the countryside stretching out beyond.

Have it hot, have it cold - whatever the late summer weather calls for...

Thoughtful touches, without taking away from the simplicity of being off-grid.

A slower kind of luxury, made for lingering...

There’s something about blackberry season that quietly marks the beginning of a change 🌿

The hedgerows grow heavier, fingertips turn purple, and late summer begins to lean ever so slightly towards autumn.

Blackberries have been picked from the British countryside for generations, woven into old folklore, seasonal recipes and the simple tradition of taking a bowl out to the hedgerows and seeing what you find.

A small reminder that some of the loveliest parts of a season are the ones that have always been there.

So, if you’re staying with us over the coming weeks, take a wander, keep an eye on the hedgerows and perhaps bring a handful back to your hut.

Just another reason to linger a little longer...
