We had a fantastic Friday morning visiting BNI Momentum at Village Hotel, Dudley and connecting with an incredible group of ambitious, passionate and driven business professionals. 🚀

From meaningful conversations and valuable insights to new connections and exciting opportunities, it was brilliant to experience the power of networking in action.

Plant lovers from across Birmingham are invited to come together for Another Plant Swap Birmingham 2026, taking place at Secret Space in Digbeth on Sunday 16 August.

The event brings together houseplant enthusiasts for an afternoon of plant swapping, conversation and community. Whether you’re looking to exchange plants, discover something new for your collection or simply meet other plant lovers, the event offers a relaxed way to connect with Birmingham’s growing plant community.

Swapper tickets are £15 and are designed for visitors bringing plants to exchange. The ticket includes entry to the event, a non-alcoholic welcome drink, a goodie bag and entry into the raffle.

Non-Swapper tickets are £8 for those who would like to attend and enjoy the event without bringing plants to swap.

The Birmingham event is being held at Secret Space in Digbeth and is sponsored by Ladybird Plant Care.

At the Hub on the Green, we’re holding our biggest-ever swap event this August, aimed at
helping local families to cut costs and encourage children to read.
The Big Swap will be on Saturday August 8th from 11am to 2pm. Choose from a huge range of
school uniforms and children’s books, all to take home – and all free of charge!
“We’re encouraging people to bring outgrown or unwanted school uniforms and no-longer read
books to swap, but that’s not a condition of taking part. No-one will go away empty-handed,”
said John Dolan, Chair of Trustees.
“The generosity of people in Bournville means you can choose from a wide range of uniforms in
great condition, all ready to take home, helping families save money in time for the new school
term.
“The Big Swap is also great for the environment, giving new life to clothes and books that might
otherwise end up in landfill.”
Activities on the day will include storytelling by local writer Bea Jay Evans, author of the Mia
books, and ‘poems on demand’ written by Robbie Lea-Trengrouse, who runs the Hub’s monthly
Poetry Group.
Also available will be the Hub’s popular Blind Date with a Book. These pre-loved books are
wrapped, with clues about what they are on a handmade bookmark. They cost £1 each in
support of Hub funds and during The Big Swap every purchase will include a free book-themed
sticker.
Everyone attending will be able to add their favourite children’s book title to the Hub’s Book
Tree. The upcycled cardboard tree was unveiled on World Book Night when favourite children’s
book titles chosen by Caroline Cadbury, Chair of Bournville Village Trust, and local historian
Carl Chinn, were the first to be added.
“This year is Go All In, the National Year of Reading and the Big Swap is our latest event
supporting this,” said John. “We hope many local people will come along and take part.”
