Another thing we learnt recently…

I know, I know, I bang on about us trying to think of all the little details! But this tiny thing we offer was so appreciated last week by a guest who positively proclaimed they’d 'never seen this anywhere they’d stayed before (and that’s a lot of places) and it was so nice not to have to crawl under a piece of furniture to find this', that I initially felt proud that we’d thought about it...
But then we started chatting more deeply about good sleep, changing habits... and I was mortified as I realised our good intentions have actually been encouraging the opposite of what we hope for during your stays.
We pride ourselves on offering you a place to (all the cliches)… slow down, reset, switch off, share cherished time with loved ones or with yourself… and we genuinely hope for that for you. So why on earth we thought super fast wireless phone chargers by your beds was a good idea I do not know! Good sleep and quality time to be with your yourself or a partner a phone by the bed doth not create. Do you agree?
So that’s our first lesson for June. Technology isn’t always our friend, and in this instance, we didn’t think it through.
Where should we pop the chargers instead? Tell us where makes sense without encouraging you to doom scroll the moment you wake up?

It's Friday, let's go with a rainbow... or two 🌈
'The double' was even better than this last night, but I was too slow. That's the beauty of nature!
If it weren't such a cheesy name, this view would be called Rainbow Valley. You can guarantee on sunny/rainy/sunny/rainy days like we've been having, the shape of the landscape that forms the beautiful views here will deliver a rainbow in one form or another. You just have to be patient (and quick if you want to capture it).
I think it's nature saying something...💚

We've noticed you've chosen us for a number of marriage proposals now, and it warms our hearts when we hear of a happy engagement unfolding.
Wondering where you might pop the magic question? You could surprise them as they relax in the window seat, looking out over rolling hills, as the bubbly chills in the fridge. Or you could be cosied up in the outdoor bath, all toasty under a moonlit sky or you could whip out the ring as you lounge on the sun lawn, surrounded by birdsong and the buzz of busy bees. Or why not take a wander into the woods and propose under the canopy of the forest 🌲

Oooph! What a week! 🌞 And you were amazing 👏
We spent the countdown to the close of the vote with dear friends in a very hot field of tents in Kent, hoping our guests were finding respite amongst the shade of the trees in the forest 🌲
We want to say a HUGE thank you to all who rallied around us this past week and voted for us in the 'Best Boutique Stay' award.
You humoured me in my shameless WhatsApp call out and heard our cry on here and in our newsletter. With your support, we moved from having 20-something percent to, we believe, 46% of the vote! So, alongside the other 9 fine establishments in that category, we now have to wait patiently until the 16th June for the result.
Thank you so much for getting behind us and believing in what we've created here 💖
