We received around 40 completed entries to win a free weekend stay during the 2027 season, but I’ve decided to also include a 2nd and 3rd place prize of 50% off and 10% off respectively for a two night stay of your choice!

Finally got to install these 10 Degree non-return flap valves, to the two vulnerable culverts on the site today. One 450mm, the other 225mm

At a cost of over £1300!!, they will prevent water travelling into the site when the river is in spate and high.

Hi all. What a busy season it’s been. Best ever August on record for Cresslands. So many lovely visitors new and returning. Thank you so much for supporting this little slice of nature. 🙏🏻💚🌱

If you entered the treasure hunt competition, I will be doing a live stream to announce the lucky winner at the end of this month.
. . Thinking ahead now, to wetter days and higher river levels, we’ve reinforced the bank along the side of the conifer archway as you enter the park, with 173 sandbags! This section was starting to suffer some erosion as, being under the tree, gets very little vegetation to hold the bank together. Bit more soil to add yet, mind you.

Just a quick update on the new site addition.

The Kushi Dog Grooming cabin build is finally finished. It won’t be full operational for a few weeks yet, as all the equipment gets set up.

Would you bring your dogs for a groom, whilst you stayed on the campsite? Asking for a friend 🤣💚

Development of the Kushi Dog Grooming cabin is coming along nicely. Looking to be operational towards the end of this season, possibly middle of September.

I’ve been saving all the sandstone I’ve found for the last year or so, during the dev work at the back of the site… yesterday Amara and I set about putting it all to good use as a path edging to highlight the route over the small bank along the river. Albeit just laid out, will concrete them in properly to make it more permanent and fixed.

Check this beast out! It’s the larva of the Mullein moth, gorging itself on its namesake, with a few friends in tow. Not far off pupating me thinks!
