September in the Cotswolds just hits differently 🍂

The crowds begin to fade, the evenings feel a little cosier and the countryside starts to slip into its autumn colours. Spend your days wandering pretty villages, exploring country lanes, stopping for long lunches and finding the perfect pub for a well-earned drink.

A very successful team day out 🍻

We recently headed over to Stroud Brewery to meet the people behind the b**r, see how it’s made and, naturally, sample a few along the way.

Getting out to meet the brilliant local producers we work with is something we want to do much more of - learning about what goes into the things we serve, supporting businesses on our doorstep and having a pretty good time while we’re at it.

If you’re staying with us, this one deserves a spot on the itinerary. 🌿

Lower Slaughter is one of those Cotswold villages that really does look as good as the pictures - honey-coloured stone, the River Eye running through the village and plenty of reasons to slow down and have a wander.

Explore, take far too many photos, then make your way back to The Mousetrap for dinner and a pint.

That sounds like a pretty good Cotswolds day to us.

Small brewery. Seriously good b**r. 🍺

Just down the road in Uley, we spent the afternoon with Emily getting a proper look behind the scenes at Uley Brewery.

It’s small, independent and brilliantly local - exactly the kind of supplier we love working with at The Mousetrap.

The team got to see where the b**r we pour at the bar actually comes from, meet the people behind it and, naturally, make sure it was up to standard.
Spoiler: it was.

A pint with very few miles on the clock. 🍺
Uley Brewery is just down the road from us, producing brilliant b**r in the heart of the Cotswolds - including this Uley Pale, proudly sitting on our bar.
Great pubs need great b**r. Even better when it comes from our neighbours. Keep your eyes peeled for a peek at the brewery over the next few weeks when come of our wonderful team had the chance to visit.
