Easy on the Wye started with a storm. Not the usual start to a story I know. But the storm blew down a tree, the tree flew down the river and there was a gap on the Rivers Edge. The Dog and I went for a walk that day and I walked out of the yard and I just knew. Do you ever have that feeling deep down that that is what you were supposed to do that day? That is where your life is going? Peddling back a few years to when we moved to Jon's family farm, we had a discussion on what we could do to diversify, the conclusion was it would be nice to build a holiday let, so we thought about it and looked all around and came to the conclusion nothing was right. There was no-where we would like to stay so the idea got put aside. Fast forward two years and the tree fell down. As soon as I saw the gap and the view down the river- I just knew that was where it was going to go. I was so excited I rung Jon on the spot and didn't suggest or ask. I told him I had the perfect spot for the Hut. The view was incredible. The location was close enough to the buildings to dig utilities to it (as I was determined I was not going to do anything less than luxury. I wanted to create what I would want if I stayed away to treat myself). The decision was made. Stay tuned for part 2.
