rounds. We are blessed to have lovely countryside and dramatic natural scenery on our doorstep. For anyone who enjoys walking, cycling, golf, horse-riding, fishing or other outdoor country pursuits, a visit here will feel like a trip to paradise! We also have a table-tennis table, a small fitness suite and sauna facility. If you are a less energetic person, you can relax in front of our open log fires. Originally a Welsh long house, Tall John’s House has been shaped by British naval history. The famous Admiral Hamilton used his substantial prize money to create a wonderful Georgian manor house in the late 19th century. In the 1950s another admiral, Watson, bought the house and it is still in the Watson family’s possession. It now has all the comforts of the 21st century but has kept its character from the past six hundred years. For those guests enjoying Exclusive Use of Tall John’s House our cook is available to provide additional meals on request. Breakfast is included in the rental but we are all happy to help you with lunches, teas, children’s suppers, light 2 course suppers or entertain your guests with a full 3 course dinner with canapés beforehand.
