It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the closure of Bristol Blue Glass, who have proudly been the suppliers of the MTM Awards since 2016 and the Sema Jambo Awards since 2023.
A true Bristol institution, Bristol Blue Glass has sadly been forced to close as the landlords intend to redevelop the premises. Despite efforts from us, many loyal supporters, and respected figures including Andrew Varney, the business will now close its doors.
As MTM Awards and Sema Jambo Ltd, we have built a warm and valued working relationship with the Bristol Blue Glass team over the years. Like all long-standing partnerships, there were occasional bumps along the way, but mutual respect and shared passion always remained at the heart of our journey together.
Today, on behalf of myself and the entire team at MTM and Sema Jambo, we would like to sincerely thank everyone at Bristol Blue Glass for their dedication, craftsmanship, and support towards our brands over the years.
The Flame Crystal Glass they created for us has become the signature symbol of both the MTM Awards and the Sema Jambo Awards — a legacy that will forever remain part of our story.
We wish all at Bristol Blue Glass every success and happiness as they move on to new chapters and opportunities. Their contribution to Bristol’s creative heritage and to our organisations will never be forgotten.
Thank you all for looking after our brands with such care and professionalism.
Good luck and best wishes.

MTM Awards wishes Councillor Yassin Mohamud every success and blessings as he officially takes on the prestigious role of Lord Mayor of Bristol today.

History is being made as Cllr Yassin Mohamud becomes the first person of Somali heritage to hold this honoured ceremonial position in the city of Bristol — a proud moment reflecting the diversity, resilience, and unity of modern Britain.

First elected in 2021 as a Green Party councillor representing Lawrence Hill, Cllr Mohamud’s journey is one rooted in community, perseverance, and lived experience. Having arrived in the UK from Somalia two decades ago, he built his life in Bristol alongside his family and has become a respected voice for inclusion, opportunity, and social justice.

Speaking about his journey, Cllr Mohamud shared that his understanding of politics did not begin in formal institutions, but through everyday realities, from housing and community safety to ensuring young people have opportunities and that every community feels heard and valued.
Known for his calm leadership style and strong connection to grassroots communities, Yassin has been widely recognised across Bristol for championing equality, representation, and civic participation. His appointment as Lord Mayor is not only a personal achievement but an inspiration to many communities across the UK and beyond.

MTM Awards celebrates this remarkable milestone and applauds Bristol for embracing leadership that reflects the rich cultural fabric of the city.
Congratulations, Lord Mayor Yassin Mohamud......Your story continues to inspire generations.
