Maurice House Firework Display! 🎆
Maurice House is a care home for ex-service personnel and spouses and all proceeds go towards their activities such as trips out and live entertainment and fun things to do within the home.

Edit: A statement from the care home manager.
‘Our residents are our top priority and if even one of them would be triggered by fireworks then we wouldn't have them.
Our residents enjoy the fireworks and are kept very safe.
We use the low noise variety bought from a proper firework retailer (not a supermarket)
We consult with the stables and they have told me that one of the horses loves watching the fireworks. They stay with them whilst out display is on and the farmer next door has his own display.’

Important Update regarding the Viking Bay Fireworks Display

Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council are sad to announce that this year’s annual fireworks event at Viking Bay has been cancelled.
This difficult decision follows a rigorous safety review and risk assessment. The ongoing major building works to replace a collapsed sewer on Victoria Parade have significantly reduced vital walking space, which serves as our primary crowd dispersal area.
Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council have explored every available alternative, and we are incredibly grateful to Southern Water for being highly accommodating in trying to help us find a solution. However, closer inspection of the data and space constraints confirmed that the risk to public safety is simply too high.
We share your disappointment, but the safety of our residents and visitors must always come first. Thank you for your understanding.

This is the last week of regular opening for the Dickens House Museum this year.

With on the way, the London & Coastal Literary Line are revisiting the horror story,
‘The Signalman’.
Join them by the fireside at the museum.

Performances are on;-
Friday 30 October
Saturday 31 October
Sunday 1st November
at 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

The performances are included in the usual admission price.

Folkestone Documentary Festival: THE ARCHIVIST with short film THE WEAVERS (wonderful short exploring the ancient skills of Scottish weaving). The Budapest Cafe Orchestra

The group blends traditional folk, gypsy, Klezmer, Balkan, Russian, Hungarian, and Romanian music with jazz styling, unique arrangements, and artful distillations of Romantic-era classical masterworks (such as Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Grieg). Their repertoire also spans Gaelic folk anthems and international film themes.
