A day in Burford is best enjoyed at a slower pace.

Wander the historic High Street, take in the Cotswold stone architecture, browse the independent shops and make time for a walk through the surrounding countryside.

Then, when the exploring is done, find a table at The Golden Pheasant and finish the day with something sweet from our dessert menu.

Because a day in Burford deserves a good ending.

Autumn is starting to find its way into the kitchen.

As the seasons change, so does the produce available to our chefs. Richer flavours, comforting ingredients and fresh local produce begin to shape the dishes leaving the pass.

We source locally wherever possible and let the season guide what belongs on the plate. It means fresher ingredients, better flavour and food that feels right for the time of year.

Autumn is coming to Burford, and we’re ready for it.

A dish made for the change of season.

Warm chicken thighs, cooked shawarma style with plenty of spice, served with a fresh yoghurt and lemon dressing for a bright, creamy finish.

Comforting enough for cooler days, but still fresh and full of flavour.

On the menu at The Golden Pheasant in Burford.

Fresh produce deserves a careful touch.

Our chefs work with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, choosing produce for its freshness, seasonality and flavour, then letting those ingredients do the talking.

From the first preparation to dressing the final plate, it’s simple food treated with the care it deserves.

It’s the details that make the difference.

Behind every plate is a team of chefs who genuinely care about their craft. From selecting quality ingredients to preparation, cooking and that final touch before a dish leaves the kitchen, nothing is there by accident.

It’s a combination of experience, patience and pride in doing things properly.

That’s what goes into the food at The Golden Pheasant.
