Chasing sunsets on Stanage Edge 🤩🧡

This dramatic gritstone edge can be found above the Peak District village of Hathersage ⛰

It’s a popular spot for hikers and climbers, with breathtaking views of the Hope Valley, and the ridge stretches for almost 4 miles!

Fans of the classic Pride & Prejudice film will also recognise Stanage Edge as the spot where Keira Knightley - playing Elizabeth Bennett - stood upon a rock ledge and dreamed of Mr Darcy ✨

There's always one, isn't there?! It took a LOT of baaa-ing on my part to persuade this little gang to take a break from snacking on the heather and pose perfectly on the rocks of Stanage Edge for me - but that one at the back was determined that she was not getting paid nearly enough to put up with this nonsense. You and me both, missus. 🤭 Happy T-ewes-day!

A sea of purple 💜 Heather season in the Peak District is a beautiful sight to behold 🤩

For a few magical weeks each summer, the moors burst into colour, transforming the landscape into a sea of vibrant purple 🌿 Have you spotted the heather in bloom yet?

Last light from the edges of Higger Tor.. it is not always about capturing the sun on the horizon, but to capture the effects of the casting golden light on the landscape.

Wednesday evening after photographing the eclipse with Rob we then decided to get away from the madding crowds and headed to a quiet location to photograph the Perseid meteors. I love how the twisted, weather-beaten tree becomes the foreground subject reaching into a sky filled with countless stars and after several hundred images over a few hours I managed to get 3 meteors in the frame (although we did see lots more!)so nice to enjoy the peace and quiet letting the cameras do their thing while laying on our backs and watching the night sky.(Olympus OM-1 7-14mm f/2.8 pro 25 sec f/2.8 @ 7mm ISO1600 Kase neutral night filter)
