I devastatingly lost all of my chickens and all but 2 of my Hen ducks...whatever it was didn't touch my drakes though, Of which I now have 9 and I sadly have no way to address that unbalance favourably, I can't afford more hen ducks, So I will probably eat the drakes. I was talking to a friend about growing up and my second family having lots of quail and liking both the eggs and the birds, I had lots of spare poultry panels with which I could build an enclosure and she very kindly arrived with a couple of boxes of Quail. They've just started laying and the excess eggs will be for sale, £3 for 12...Eggs again at the Copper Pot alongside the very melodic chirping of the Quail Hens and Roos...message me if you'd like any, The eggs are delicious 😊 xx

The kitchen extension is getting there, I had help at the weekend from Neil, Shaz, Stu and Kate...I finished the glass roof last night on my own at about 1030pm. I'm working on site today, so painting away and tidying up. It will be a great space and will be double the size of the previous kitchen with 2 sinks, 3 x gas hobs, double the size of breakfast bar and a wood burning stove for the winter.

The glass roof was given to me last year at a longterm job I was on, the wall paint was given to me by a friend who was chucking it out, The kitchen units were free on marketplace and the glorious big (now) charcoal wall unit was given to me by Jasmine and her partner Liam from Kithill. It will be ready for this season xx

I did smash one of the 3m x .5m glass panes on Saturday night with the last screw of the day, Hich was a massive pain in the arse, but luckily had enough glass to finish it.

Do I look tired? I feel tired...😂😂😂 xx

Lots of fledglings around, Remember not to touch them unless you genuinely believe they're in imminent danger....I'm pretty sure I'll see this little one again as it's parents regulalry steal eggs from my kitchen 😂😂❤️

There is an exciting new project that I'll be starting towards the end of summer, once I've got other bits out of the way...this will be for growing vegetables and plants on site and will be hugely important for the lifeskills days on site teaching children and adults how to grow and harvest vegetables. I'm looking for glass doors like this, internal or external are both fine and they need wooden frames. I'm looking for at least 20 please...I often see them for free, But typically not many about at the moment 😂 I'm happy to barter or if I have available funds, I'll buy them. Please do let me know if you have any laying around in garages and if you want rid of them, Thank you very much :) xx

When my ex wife and I bought this wee spot, This area in front of us was lawn, I've planted thousands of perennial flowers, thousands of alliums, trees, banana plants, shrubs in the 10 or so years, Placed countless piles of logs everywhere, and put in a couple of ponds So I could attract more wildlife....and it's worked. Some years I have 10 lots of wrens fledging, Massive amounts of blackbirds, I've a picture of 6 fully coloured Robins sitting on my fence under the feeder, Various red listed birds. I have the woodpeckers feeding like this regulalry - which a lot of people do, but these are really very close with no barrier. I have deer walking through the site, foxes/badgers/stoats/weasels/otters/polecats all visit or have visited the site. You can sit in the kitchen and watch the voles snaffle my favourite flowers in the flower bed, Watch the bats fly through in the early evening. Watch the hornets strip the wood buildings so they can build their nests, You can be buzzed by Tanner Beetles - Prionus Coriarius, Under the parachute or in the kitchen when they emerge, They are my FAVOURITE beetle of all time, Absolutely massive, But Completely harmless. This is a wonderful campsite, Little noise other than nature or kids having fun...or the goats wailing for food 🙈😂 ill post more about the accommodation tomorrow, but for today, enjoy Wee Fatty Boom Boom, The woodpecker...it's an inherited name, passed down from its forebears 😊

The daily morning routine at The Copper Pot Campsite...Coffee, Shower, coffee, Feed the goats their morning rations and vitamins, Fill up their hay rack and water. Let out and feed the Poultry, Collect eggs. Check both rabbit enclosures, feed, water and maaaaybe quickly cuddle one of the babies, Boop the dogs nose...only Milo, Bea doesn't like a boop, check the bees quickly, Coffee, then get the tools ready for the days offsite work. Leave between 730am and 815am depending on what job I'm going. Then repeat all once I'm home...minus the coffee and then onto evening jobs of building, clearing, splitting logs...etc..etc...I love it 😊

So, I desperately need some people to come along and erect this yurt and in exchange I'll give them a 3 night stay on site. They MUST have genuine experience in putting these up and also be aware that I will not be helping, I don't have the time...I'm so so busy trying to survive and do other work both on site and off, Working 100+hr weeks, So I cannot help. I will only give them the 3 night stay if shes erected correctly, I cannot do it otherwise. Please don't suggest watching YouTube, we did that initially, It didn't help and I now do not have the time to do it myself. Please do share for me, Thank you very very much xx
