After a wild few days on Davaar, a little calm returns.

A few things to put right, and a big thank you to our guests for their patience, understanding and good humour through it all.

The island is as beautiful as ever.

A heartfelt thank you to Ardshiel Hotel for coming to the rescue and accommodating our Davaar Island guests at such short notice this afternoon.

With the island currently without power, and the latest news that it may not be restored until Wednesday, it’s been challenging times - as for many other businesses.

We’re so grateful for the kindness, flexibility and warm hospitality shown to our guests when their island stay was unexpectedly cut short.

A lovely reminder of how fortunate we are to have such wonderful neighbours here in Kintyre. Thank you!

To get here, you have to time your arrival with the sea.

Twice a day, the tide drops and the Dhorlin causeway opens up for a short window, letting you cross over to Davaar by 4x4 or on foot.

Once you arrive, the water closes back in behind you until the next low tide. Fires in the stove, dark skies above, and the whole island to yourself for the night.

Slow mornings on Davaar…

Stay with us …switch off, wake to birdsong, wander down for a swim, linger over coffee by the fire pit, and spend the rest of the day with nothing much on the agenda except sea air and spectacular views.
