Lochanhully Resort is the perfect place for a winter break for families and friends - quiet yet packed with local activities.☃️

One Fantastic Festive attraction brought to you by Strathspey Steam Railway is the Santa Elf Express, embarking from Aviemore. 🚂

This Christmas themed rail journey steams it's way through the stunning Scottish Highlands. Adults can sit back relax, take in the spectacular scenery, and enjoy the merry atmosphere. 🏔️

There is also plenty to keep the wee ones entertained. Santa will make a special visit to meet the young passengers along with his mischievous elves.

Big kids that still enjoy the magic of Christmas are also welcome with adults only carriages available. 🍷

🌉 The Old Packhorse Bridge (Coffin Bridge)

The weird and wonderful bridge is a favourite amongst travellers and photographers. 📸 The unique structure has been sculpted by the erosion of time. Built in 1717, it remains the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands. The parapets of the bridge were washed away by the roaring River Dulnain during the Muckle Spate flood in 1829. 🌊 But the original arch has survived for more than 300 years. The peculiar shape now provides plenty of opportunities for pictures. 📷

⚰️ The bridge also has a morbidly fascinating nickname: the Coffin Bridge. It held a fascinatingly grim but essential purpose. It was built to allow funeral processions to cross the river to Duthil Church, serving as the final crossing for the deceased before they were laid to rest.

🏛️ Such is the historic importance of the bridge that it is now a Category B listed building. This means it can no longer be crossed on foot but remains a visually stunning sight to behold. 🌿

New Receptionist Ritchie the Cat 😺 leaping into action.

Today we welcome new Receptionist Ritchie the Cat into the fold.

Richie is already a familiar face to both the team and guests as the resorts Pest Control and Security Specialist. He has now expanded his role to include Receptionist duties.
