Before Coffee & Stays at Cartmel Square, we were known as Market Cross Cottage—named after the historic monument right outside our front door! ✨

For centuries, this spot was the heart of village life. Traders gathered under the shadow of the Priory Gatehouse, villagers fetched water at the pump, and fresh catches from Morecambe Bay were displayed on the granite "fish stones." 🐟

Fun fact: Local fishmongers still trade right here in the square today, carrying on the tradition!
