A building with a past... 🚔

The Old Police Station in Ashby de la Zouch has had quite a few lives.

Originally built in 1862 as a Victorian home, it was extended in 1879 to accommodate the police station, including a Magistrates' Room and accommodation for the local sergeant.

The building went on to house courtrooms, police officers and Ashby Town Council before the police station eventually closed in 2012.

In 2014, dbs gave the building a new lease of life with a £500,000 refurbishment, transforming it into the modern office space it is today.

We love that the building still has plenty of its history, while now being home to a completely different generation of local businesses.

The Old Vicarage has a few stories to tell!

Our Castle Donington business centre dates back to the 17th century and forms part of the village's Conservation Area.

But it's some of the more unusual stories that make it interesting...

🍰 Former vicar's garden parties apparently included food cooked on gravestones!

🏎️ The property was once owned by former F1 racing driver Brian Henton. When dbs bought it, there was even a life-size cut-out of him downstairs!

📝 Mysterious notes have been found hidden in the brickwork in the cellar. Who left them there? We have no idea.

🐈 And then there's the cat who disappeared for three years, found The Old Vicarage and decided he'd like to move in. He's now very much part of the dbs team.

It's fair to say there's more to The Old Vicarage than just offices.
