There is lots of reasons to visit Dumfries and Galloway and so it’s great to see the recognition given here by the National Geographic

#1 D & G is the only UK site on the National Geographical’s Best of the world list for 2027

⭐️ Article highlights the region as a dark sky destination for stargazers.

🚶🚴 Region also highlighted as superb for cycling and walking..aren’t we lucky Route 7 of the national cycle route passes Midkelton, connecting Dumfries to Castle Douglas

🏖️⛰️ The region was also likened to the Islands for romance and the Highlands for the wilderness..visits from Midkelton to The artist town of Kirkcudbright, a trip to beaches such as Mossyard and Rockcliffe or walks up hills such as Screel and Criffel are just some of the reasons we agree with this!

👙award winning spa (about 12 miles from Midkelton..but perfect for a girls day out whilst visiting) at the Cairndale hotel also gets a shout out!

Well done Dumfries and Galloway!
