Mill End Hotel - A luxury, boutique, country hotel and 2 AA restaurant on Dartmoor We have a choice of individually-designed luxury rooms to suit all tastes.

Mill End is a luxury country hotel, just outside the delightful Dartmoor village of Chagford. We are the perfect base for exploring Dartmoor, with great walks from the hotel, and within easy reach of everything that Dartmoor National Park has to offer. Morning coffee, delicious light lunches (in the garden when the sun shines), traditional Devon Cream Teas, and fine dining in our restaurant in the evening.

One of, if not the MOST recognisable faces at our Hotel; Piotr!

Piotr has been with Mill End for over 15 years and will be a much-loved face for many of you, and rose to Deputy General Manager role last year. Piotr is always going above and beyond with his positive and bubbly personality, and is always ‘Living the dream’!

Get the week off to a great start with a divine lunch at Mill End!

😋 Italian cured meats from Somerset Charcuterie , must-try west country cheeses, burrata, homemade quiches, salad and homemade breads all make our charcuterie unmissable...

🍽 Our exciting new expanded lunch menu launched last month. Take a peek at our stories for the full menu- including delicious freshly prepared nibbles such as whitebait, arancini, an expanded sandwich list with homemade soups, and bigger dishes such as risotto of the moment, homemade beef burgers, cheese ploughman's and more.

🥩 We have a fantastic new supplier we would like to shout about!

Here is head chef Louis plating up our delicious, melt-in-the-mouth, slow braised beef cheek from Bailey & Sons The Master Butchers, Paignton.

Bailey & Sons are master catering butchers with roots going back to WWII, and they source their meat directly from farms they know and trust, right here in Devon.

What’s special about them:

🏅 Taste of the West Gold Award-winning sausages
🚜 Red Tractor approved, responsibly sourced meat

Take a peek at just a few sublime dishes from our current menu 😍

Rumour has it, there's a new chef in town... and he's whipping up so many seasonal treats- you cannot keep us away from the Mill End kitchen!

Mill End is open to non-residents, too, why not book in for a special fine-dining dinner this Autumn in our peaceful country house restaurant? Come and melt in to the flavours of Devon's finest produce.

Unfortunately, it will probably not be looking like this over the next few days.

⚠️ Storm Austen is heading for Dartmoor. The Met Office says flying debris could be a danger to life.

The first named storm of the season arrives overnight. An amber wind warning for parts of Devon, including parts of Dartmoor, runs from around 3am to 10am on Friday. Gusts of 70mph are likely for a time, with perhaps some around 80mph on exposed headlands, alongside heavy rain. It will stay windy for the rest of Friday, but winds will gradually ease.

🕐 Best times to travel: Thursday during the day, before the storm arrives, or Friday afternoon once the strongest winds have eased. The Met Office expects the strongest winds to ease from late Friday morning into the early afternoon.
🚫 Avoid travelling between 3am and 10am on Friday if you can, especially on exposed moorland roads and under trees, where branches and debris could come down.
🔌 Be ready for power cuts: the Met Office suggests keeping torches, batteries and a charged phone or power bank to hand.

Drive safely, and the fires should be lit and our cosy lounges and rooms waiting for you. 🔥
