We know, we haven’t even had Halloween yet, but we just have mention the ‘C’ word today because we don’t want you to miss out...

Two of our most favourite local pubs, The Cotley Inn and Candlelight Inn have recently launched their festive menus and my goodness do they sound yummy!

Whilst we can’t sample them until the 27th of November, you can still very much get your tables booked ready for your stay with us.

So many of our guests just love dining at these sister pubs, and we would hate for anyone to miss out on the opportunity to experience their festive goodness just because we didn’t want to mention ‘Christmas’!

So we’ve braved it, we’ve said it, and most importantly we’ve saved you from missing out on these yummy festive menus if you’re staying with us between the 27th of November and the 24th of December!

There’s an exciting new addition to the Dimpsey tea tray 🐝🍫

We’ve always left our guests a little bag of delicious Cathy Wright Chocolatier to enjoy during their stay with us – little bites of chocolate-dipped honeycomb yumminess!

But, we’ve got a rather lovely little upgrade to share with you...

From now on, you’ll find a mixed bag of milk, dark and white Belgian chocolate-dipped honeycomb pieces waiting for you in your hut. A little something for every chocolate lover.

That perfect honeycomb crunch, wrapped in three delicious kinds of chocolate, enjoy with a cuppa, alongside a good book or maybe even whilst you soak in your outdoor hottub or bath.

Just another extra detail to make your time at Dimpsey even sweeter - the only question is, which one will be your favourite?

A little look at what’s been left on the coffee table in Dapple this month. 📖

We like to leave a little selection of seasonal magazines in each of our huts for our guests to discover during their stay. Something to dip into over breakfast, read with a cup of tea in the afternoon, or pick up before bed.

In Dapple, you’ll currently find...

The Simple Things (The Simple Things )
A particularly lovely one for this time of year, with seasonal recipes including an apple c***r spritz (very fitting for a Somerset escape!), ideas for seasonal swims, nature and folklore, and even a few reasons to appreciate a bog or two.

Countryside ( National Farmers’ Union (NFU) )
A wander through the British countryside, with features on regenerative farming, a Gloucestershire vineyard, British flower growers, wildlife, nature and plenty of seasonal gardening inspiration.

Bringing the House Home by Soho House ( Soho House )
A beautiful seasonal lookbook filled with interiors inspiration, design ideas and homeware, perfect for those who enjoy coming away with a little inspiration to take home with them too.

As always, as soon as the next seasonal editions land through our letterbox, they’ll be making their way into the huts too.

You can’t beat the comfort of a good magazine, a quiet afternoon and a cosy place to snuggle up and flick through your favourite pages 🩶

October is a rather lovely time to visit our little corner of Somerset. 🍂

There’s plenty happening around us as the seasons begin to change, there’s harvest celebrations and food festivals, supper clubs, local pubs serving seasonal dishes, and plenty of opportunities to explore the countryside.

So we thought we’d put together a little guide to some of the things we’re looking forward to in October, for those of you joining us at Dimpsey this month – or even if you live locally to us!

Of course, not every day needs an itinerary.

Time at Dimpsey is equally enjoyed quietly, sometimes even without the need to leave our heritage holding at all. You could spend the afternoon walking through the Blackdown Hills before settling in for a cosy pub lunch. Pick up some lovely local produce and bring it back to the hut for supper. Or just light the fire, run the bath, play a few board games and enjoy having nowhere else to be.

Discovering the wonderful people, places, food and countryside on our doorstep are some of our favourite parts of being here - whilst always having your own little corner of Dimpsey to come home to.

If you’re staying with us this October, save this one for later. And if you’re not… perhaps it’s time to put an October escape in the diary.

October through the hut doors at Dimpsey.

We love watching the seasons change througout the year from each hut, you notice something different from each one.

From Yonder, you’re blessed with two sensational views from either side of the hut. As you look from both doors you notice the changes in weather as the overhanging branches become more blustery.

And from Dapple, as you gaze from the door (or on your perfectly placed sun lounger!) you notice the change in the landscape across the Blackdown Hills.

Hedges change colour, tree leaves begin to drop, and the farmers prepare their fields for an autumn of planting and a winter of growing.

It’s amazing what you can notice out of a hut door at Dimpsey...

Fancy a few days away with one of your girls?

We know just the place...

Tucked away in the Blackdown Hills of Somerset, Dimpsey Somerset is all about creating a place for you to ‘escape the busy’ and make a little more time for the people you love.

Our three luxury shepherd huts are made for two, each nestled in their own private corner of our heritage holding and are complete with everything you need for a few days of doing very little, together.

For a girly getaway? We’d recommend our Dimpsey Dapple Hut. With two double beds, outdoor copper bath, and private sauna it’s the perfect place to spend mornings chatting over breakfast in bed, walking in the Somerset countryside, soaking in the bath with a glass of something nice and just thoroughly enjoying eachother’s company

There’s also our onsite treatment hut for when you really fancy a little Dimpsey treat.

The best thing you can give a friendship is a little time to simply enjoy each other’s company - so, who’s coming with you?
