A warm welcome to our newest member, Nathan Pursloe from Pursloe Group, specialists in building, renovation, extensions and property maintenance services across Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.

Networking is often seen as simply attending events, collecting contacts or having the occasional coffee, but real networking goes much deeper than that.

It works best when it becomes a long-term relationship-building system, built on consistency, trust and genuine support.

That is where BNI Cheltenham stands out. Members meet regularly, learn about each other’s businesses and build the kind of relationships that lead to meaningful referrals and real results.

An energising morning today at BNI Cheltenham.

Andy Davies shared his Core Value moment on traditions and innovation, touching on the importance of respecting what works while embracing new ideas. Craig Ian Humber then delivered a brilliant Education Slot on power teams, using the “hot potato” example to show how one referral can benefit several businesses and why inviting the right visitors helps everyone grow.

We were delighted to induct Nathan Mann from Harmann Property Investments as a new member, with HPI helping busy people invest in buy-to-let properties in Coventry with speed, clarity and confidence. A huge well done also to Phil Gibbens-Balaquidan, who was recognised as a Notable Networker for passing an incredible 39 referrals last month.

Our Feature Presentation came from Peter Vinicombe of Peace of Mind Estate Planning Ltd, an experienced Estate Planning Specialist supporting business and private clients with Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Lifetime Settlements and Inheritance Tax Planning.

Peter shared valuable insight into protecting assets, planning ahead, and helping families avoid paying too much Inheritance Tax, alongside case studies showing the importance of good estate planning. He also highlighted key introducers and referral partners, including accountants, IFAs, mortgage brokers, insurance brokers, relevant solicitors, and executive and business coaches.

Consistent marketing doesn’t always mean doing more.

Often, it’s about building the right systems and relationships so your business continues to grow even while you’re busy serving clients.

That’s where referral networking can make a real difference. By building trusted relationships and staying visible within your network, opportunities continue to flow without constantly having to chase new business.

At BNI Cheltenham, the focus is on creating long-term connections that support sustainable growth.

Today's BNI Meeting had several interesting conversations.

We had the Core Value delivered by Pete Hanson on Positive Attitude, highlighting the importance of mindset in building strong relationships and business success.

A valuable Education Slot from Rob Cockle, sharing the message: “Educate me so I can refer you,” where he talked about how to be specific in 30 seconds and why.

We also had a New Member Launch Pad Presentation from Chris Wiggin of Agility Outsourcing, giving the chapter a better understanding of his business. His business provides virtual assistant and back-office support for UK SMEs, without the cost of hiring in-house.

Our Feature Presentation was from Andy Davies of Digitally Driven Consultancy. He is a Gloucestershire-based Marketing Consultant with 30 years’ experience in retail and over 15 years in ecommerce. He helps businesses develop practical, commercial marketing strategies that improve brand growth, audience reach, customer engagement and conversion.

In his presentation today, he spoke about Marketing for Growth and shared his Formula One Marketing Concept, breaking business growth down into clear parts: tyres as the foundation and processes, downforce as trust, drag as the things costing your business money, and thrust as marketing.

A great reminder that growth is not just about doing more marketing. It is about having the right foundations, building trust, reducing what holds you back, and creating enough momentum to move forward. His ideal referrals are business owners who feel busy but not growing, or who feel their marketing is not working and their business has hit a ceiling.

He is especially looking to speak with businesses with a turnover of £500k+ that want to grow but are unsure what is holding them back.

Finally, congratulations to Connah from Modern Access on completing her Passport to Success, an important part of the new member journey that helps members build relationships by meeting specific people within the chapter.

One of the biggest challenges for many businesses is maintaining consistent marketing activity.

BNI helps solve that by creating a structured environment where members regularly build relationships, share opportunities, and support each other’s growth.

Each week, members meet with trusted professionals, share updates about their business, and explain the types of referrals they are looking for. Over time, those referral partners begin recognising opportunities within their own networks.

Because the process happens consistently week after week, it creates a reliable stream of introductions and potential business opportunities.

Instead of constantly starting from scratch, you become part of a network that actively helps your business grow.

If you would like to come along this week, get in touch to register your visit.
