Holy Trinity Church in the heart of Bosham on the outskirts of Chichester is the oldest known place of worship in West Sussex and is one of the very few buildings in England to be portrayed in the world famous Bayeux Tapestry…
The tapestry depicts in 58 scenes of events leading up to the Battle of Hastings of 1066 with Earl Harold Godwinson (later King Harold II) feasting at his manor house in Bosham after attending mass at the Holy Trinity Church. Then sailing out of Bosham for Normandy to meet Duke William in 1064 and later returning to Bosham.
Now the original Bayeux Tapestry has arrived in England for the first time since it was created nearly 1,000 years ago and is on public display at the British Museum in London.
After exploring the pretty little village of Bosham, why not have an adventure and see this incredible masterpiece❓ By train only takes 1 hour and 35/45 minutes direct to London Victoria.
