Made it up into the mountains. Flew into Simikot in a tiny plane yesterday. Had a walk round the town which featured a lot of chickens , goats and cows.
Had tea with the local Headteacher as I walked onto his farm by mistake.Managed to walk 1500’ up above the town this morning which is very positive but that’s only 3500m . Set off up the trekking route tomorrow.

Kathmandu still. Got my luggage back from Sharjah so yesterday got my haircut and went to the very lovely Garden of Dreams for ginger honey and lemon tea and a linge ping swing to celebrate the Dashain festival. To be fair the place was crawling with retired men from Newport. Had enough of that so flew down to the very hot Ganges plain for the night.

Errrrr.....We are so cool this autumn

STOP PRESS: We've just been voted best campsite in the South West of England by Hip Camp booking site. I haven't worked out what that means yet. We are still open until mid October and are taking booking for next year now

Talking of bookings we are about to launch an Event Venue type page. We've hosted about 12 - 15 smallish events this year from a couple of 60th birthdays and family or friends weekends to cycle and walking clubs, to charities and schools, DofE and even a very well behaved stag do! It seems quite fun so let us know if you fancy booking your event down here in deepest Somerset.

Young Rowe buck spends his days in our paddock at present. Seems pretty comfortable to be there.
