Bookings! Well it's been a strange year for bookings. I hear it's the same all over. The nationwide agency we use has only manged to make us 3 bookings so far. Fortunately we've had more direct bookings. Anyway, we thought our regular guests and followers may like to know that we, unusually, still have one week available in early June, a few in July and one in August. June and July are one some our favourite times to be at Wythebank. Enjoy exploring accessible caves?

Cathedral Cave is just a 20 minute walk from Wythebank. There is a delightful, relatively short circular walk to encompass Slaters' Bridge and Cathedral cave

Cathedral Quarry is a disused slate quarry. Enjoy your visit, but please be considerate by planning ahead and following a few simple guidelines.

A new Red Squirrel visiting in the garden this week. We're calling them Flash because of the markings on the tail. We've also seen Stumpy (short tail) for the first time in quite a few months. They were up a tree too far away for a decent photo on my phone.

Do you like our grey squirrel proof nut feeder? After a bit of modification It seems the reds can get in to eat the nuts but the greys can't. Perfect!

One of the 2 red squirrels spotted from the kitchen window today. Also seen were 1 gray squirrel (boo) and a stoat.
