We’re excited to announce that will be joining us weekly throughout the summer holidays!

Join us for relaxed summer evenings under our stretch tent with pottery painting, freshly made pizza, drinks from the bar, outdoor games and a great atmosphere.

There will be a selection of pottery pieces available for all ages to paint and personalise – the perfect holiday keepsake or a fun way to spend an evening with family and friends.

Whether you’re getting creative, enjoying a pizza, catching up over a drink or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.

Open to both our guests and local visitors.

🦙 Did you know alpaca fleece is considered one of the world’s most luxurious and sought-after natural fibres?

Our little Chico recently had his very first shearing and, safe to say, he’s feeling a little less fluffy and a lot more streamlined! 😆

What many people don’t realise is that alpaca fleece is incredibly special:

✨ It can be up to 7 times warmer than sheep’s wool thanks to its hollow fibres, which trap heat efficiently.
✨ It’s naturally lightweight and breathable.
✨ It’s hypoallergenic and contains virtually no lanolin, making it a great option for people who find traditional wool itchy.
✨ It’s softer than many types of sheep’s wool and is often compared to cashmere.
✨ It’s naturally strong and durable, meaning garments can last for years.
✨ Alpaca fleece is one of the most sought-after natural fibres in the world and is often used to create premium knitwear, blankets and accessories.
✨ Alpacas come in more than 20 natural colours, reducing the need for dyes.
✨ The fleece is shorn once a year and grows back ready to keep them comfortable through the seasons.

We were lucky enough to have some of the boys’ fleece professionally spun into yarn, giving us a unique piece of Erw Glas to treasure and transform into something special. 🧶

Because alpacas are only shorn once a year, the amount of fleece they produce is limited, making alpaca yarn even more special and highly valued.

We’re already planning what to create with it and can’t wait to share the finished result with you! 👀

A little alpaca update… 🦙❤️

Many of you will remember Marty, who stole the hearts of so many visitors during his time with us. With his cheeky personality and gentle nature, he became a very special part of life here at Erw Glas.

As sad as we were to see him go, we knew that being part of a herd again was the very best thing for him ❤️We’re pleased to say that Marty has now moved to a wonderful new home where he has lots of alpaca friends, plenty of space to roam and will continue to be loved and well cared for.

Whilst we’ll miss him, knowing he’s exactly where he should be makes saying goodbye a little easier.

And with one chapter ending, another begins…

We have recently welcomed three young alpaca boys to Erw Glas! 🦙🦙🦙

They’ve spent their first days exploring their new surroundings, grazing, settling in and getting to know us (and the treat bucket!). It’s safe to say they’re already full of character and keeping us entertained.

What do you think about the social media ban for under 16s? I have to say as a mother of two teenagers I am pleased this has been brought in, although I do think platforms need to have some more accountability and preventative measures in this quickly changing digital world that we now live in. Erw Glas Glamping & Camping is looking for a Housekeeper / Accommodation Assistant to join our small, friendly team.

We are an award-winning, family-run glamping and camping site in the beautiful Conwy Valley, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys maintaining exceptionally high standards.

🧹 Approximately 10–15 hours per week
🧹 Most shifts are 4–5 hours and take place between morning and early afternoon
🧹 Various weekdays and weekends depending on bookings
🧹 Seasonal role until September/October with the potential for ongoing work throughout the year with reduced hours

The role involves preparing our shepherd huts, glamping tents and communal facilities for arriving guests, ensuring everything is presented to an exceptional standard.

🚗 A full UK driving licence and your own transport are essential due to our rural location and lack of public transport.
📅 Weekend availability is essential.

Nobody ever comes home from a camping trip talking about emails, housework or what was on TV.

They talk about sunsets.

Campfires.

Marshmallows toasted just right.

Morning coffees outside.

The walk they almost didn’t do.

The chickens that followed the kids around.

The freedom of being outdoors all day.

The meal that somehow tasted better eaten outside.

The kids who didn’t want to leave.

It’s funny how the things we remember most aren’t usually the big things.

They’re the simple moments that somehow become the memories we talk about for years afterwards.

Wow… what a weekend ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our June Flow & Balance Retreat.

Despite a little Welsh weather, we were treated to some incredible views, mist-covered mountains, peaceful lakes and plenty of adventure along the way.

Over the weekend we stepped outside our comfort zones, learnt new skills, paddled across beautiful mountain lakes, shared amazing food, enjoyed yoga under the marquee and got creative with mandala art.

But more than anything, we laughed, chatted, encouraged one another and made memories together.

One of our favourite things about these weekends is watching complete strangers arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday as friends.

Thank you to every single person who came along with an open mind, a sense of adventure and such a lovely energy. You made the weekend what it was.

And a special thank you to our fantastic instructors for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm throughout the weekend.
