Olesinski Naval Architect Mike Green and Head of Research and Development Bill Edwards attended Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC7) last week.

We were excited to put our ambitious proposal to the assessors, should we be successful and receive the funding Olesinski will be involved in the development, design and naval architecture.

Olesinski would like to thank Eugene Bari from Ecomar for putting together this excellent team of collaborators: Dr. Gianmario Rinaldi from University of Exeter (centre for future clean mobility) Steve Russel from MDL Marinas, Charlie Orchard from Aluminium Marine Consultants Ltd, Nigel Lee from ROBOSYS and Professor Khaled Ahmed from University of Strathclyde

Highlights from our trip to Cannes……….

It was truly special, to see our designs brought to life on the water….

Every detail of each yacht tells the story of many hours of collaborative effort between ourselves
and Princess Yachts.

Seeing our work both on display and admired by the yachting community reminds us why we do what we do……..

See you next year!

How did Olesinski optimise the hull design of the Princess X90?

Olesinski routinely use simulation technologies such as computational fluid dynamics
(CFD) as part of our design and optimisation process.

Olesinski generated hundreds of hull forms during the development of the X90 and
were able to perform simulations of the hydrodynamic and aerodynamic behaviour of
our designs in-house. This facilitates sophisticated parametric optimisation of hull
forms and improvements in on-board comfort.

Our Naval Architects validated these refinements in hull design using free running
model testing at Ocean Basin QinetiQ Haslar

The resultant efficiency, performance and speed met our highest expectations.
An independent report by Motor Boat & Yachting indicated that the Princess X90
offers a stable and comfortable ride, enhanced by fin stabilizers. The sea
trial indicated predictable, luxurious handling at a top speed of 26-27 knots.

Throwback Thursday……..Remember when Princess Yachts launched the Olesinski designed 30M?

Can it really be 10 years ago?

This classic design is worth revisiting………here’s just a few of the reviews we received at the time….......

‘Amazing machine’ Nick Burnham / Aquaholic

‘A beautifully understated confection of textures and tones that tick all the right boxes on a sophisticated British motor yacht.’ Motor Boat & Yachting

‘The builders newest M Class yacht is a raised pilot house with mighty fine features.’ Yachting Magazine.

The real show-stopper option, of course, is the fold-out balcony on the starboard side………it would take a brave owner not to choose it.’ Power & Motoryacht Magazine

‘A stunning main deck master suite with panoramic views.’ Motor Boat & Yachting
