The Strathfillan Community Development Trust had taken on the fishing in the local area. The fishing is on the River's Fillan and Lochy and also bank fishing on Lochan Na Bi and Loch Lubhair. The fishing on the River Fillan is approximately 5 miles of single and double bank fishing. Double bank fishing is from the railway viaduct to the bridge at Inverhaggernie Farm. Thereafter, is is single bank
fishing on the right hand bank downstream to the Benmore Lodge Hotel. Permits are available from: The Londis Shop- Crianlarich, The Rod and Reel Bar- Crianlarich, Crianlarich Hotel & The Green Welly Stop- Tyndrum
Permits Cost £8.00 per day and £50 for the season. Anyone wishing to join the club can private message for details and an application form. Children under 15 fish for free when accompanied by an adult. Annual memebership includes a map of the fishing. Fishing is for Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Perch. Only bank fishing is provided on Loch Iubhair, which extends from the fence on the Western corner down to the burn which enters the loch at the picnic area. Lochan Na Bi is also bank fishing. Salmon fishing season is from the 15th January to 31st October and trout from 16th March to 7th October. It is the law that any salmon caught before 31st on May be safely returned to the water. No prawns or shrimps can be used at any time.
