Spotted on the Crieff Hydro estate...again 👻

Last October, guests reported a lone figure moving silently through the resort, and we put it down to a trick of the light. It turns out he rather liked it here, and this time he's brought his wee one. Our reception team say they've checked in for one night only, though as far as we can tell, they've no plans to leave.

Now the clocks have gone back, we have an extra hour that our bodies haven't quite caught up with. It's that odd tiredness of a Monday when it's dark by dinner time, and some part of you is still convinced it's an hour later than the clock says. We'd suggest the cure is to be somewhere else for a night or two, where the evenings run long and no one minds if you lose track of time completely 🌫️🕰️

Our final Wizarding Workshops take place this Monday 26 October, and if the wee ones are asking for some Halloween activities, you're at the right place 🪄

Broomsticks, spells with roleplay and choreography, an invisibility cloak (that works better for some than others!), and a handmade wand they get to take home, before the whole family comes together again for a 30-minute live show 🎃👻

The clocks go back this weekend. Which means somewhere between now and Sunday morning, the whole country quietly agrees to gift itself an extra hour. All our lodges have a story. And Culcrieff's began as a working Perthshire farm... 🚜

Long before it became a peaceful retreat for families and friends, Culcrieff Farm was part of the expanding Crieff Hydro estate. Purchased in the early 1900s, the original farmhouse and steading buildings were at the heart of rural life, surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Perthshire. The stone buildings have been thoughtfully transformed into the beautiful Culcrieff Village that we have today 🏡
