I’ve just been over to check the pool and was stopped in my tracks by the flower bed on the swimming pool patio.

We created this two years ago from the remains of a raised deck and I planted it with plants from The Old Well Garden Centre at Waterloo Cross near Uffculme.

It is looking gorgeous this morning. A day for the sun loungers I reckon. For the cottage guests anyway. I shall be sorting plant pots in the greenhouse for the plant pot amnesty at The Old Well this weekend. I have so many to get rid of!!

Do you like true crime? I do. I enjoy listening to Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling natter about real life crime on their podcast Murder They Wrote while I go about changeovers and other manual tasks. I emailed them more than a year ago with a tale set right here at Halsbeer Farm and they only went and recorded it in May! I found it for the first time yesterday and was so excited to be featured along with our dogs! So if you’d like a little light listening for your weekend here is the episode set right here in the Blackdown Hills …
