Family and dog friendly accessible holiday cottages in a hidden rural valley in Devon’s Blackdown Hills. Each cottage has a private, gated patio area with BBQ.

Indoor heated pool, games room and spacious conservatory. A complex of four thatched self-catering cottages in a historic farmstead on the edge of Devon's beautiful Blackdown Hills close to Exeter and Honiton. Sleeping between three and seven (and 22 in total) our cottages are a great getaway from normal life, perfect for all ages. Enjoy our indoor pool, games room and communal conservatory with large deck overlooking a duck pond. The conservatory can be arranged for entertaining large groups, parties and for workshops. In addition there is a large lawn and a playground plus you can walk on some of our 30 acres and venture out from Halsbeer to enjoy the surrounding lanes and footpaths. Dogs welcome. Three of our cottages have downstairs bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms suitable for those with limited mobility. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area including walking, cycling, horse-riding, fishing and numerous attractions for all the family. The nearest beach is around 35 minutes away at Sidmouth and Beer. The world famous Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis and Charmouth is around 45 minutes away. Dartmoor and Exmoor are also easily accessible.

Pinkys piglets are still very much at the adorable stage and have been a huge hit. Why not come see them for yourself as well the the animals.

No tricks 😱 From 17th October to 1st November, kids go FREE at Wildwood Trust.

Bring the whole family together for a wild day out filled with autumn adventures, Halloween magic and incredible wildlife. Get creative with seasonal crafts and step into the magic of our Saxon village, where a few enchanting surprises might be waiting…there’s plenty to keep the little horrors entertained!

Up to two children under 18 will be admitted for free with each full-paying adult or member (if you have children on your membership, that’s in addition to the children already on your membership.)

Please note our online ticketing system will not allow us to charge £0.00 so online tickets are 1p! Advanced booking is not necessary 🎃

The storm has passed and we are open today from the earlier time of 9am (today only), then open all through half term from 10am.
This is to extend the day help things flow as this is typically the busiest weekend of the year.

We have the hard standing car park so no panic about getting stuck after all the rain. Pictured above is brother in law James from JAK Hire who provides the matting.

Fab visit to our local pumpkin patch just down the road for edible squash and gorgeous gourds to decorate the house and cottages for Autumn. Lovely to see so many families out in the sunshine.

We have quite an Autumnal house as both the kitchen and living room are green with accents of orange so I love bringing the gourds indoors to decorate for spooky season.

The pumpkin patch will be open again next weekend and throughout half term. We still have one little cottage, Apple, available for between three and seven nights from next Saturday 24th October. Sleeps up to 3 or 4 if one is an infant in a cot.
