We are so thrilled to be getting lots of messages about when our 2027 trip dates will be available to book so to keep you all up to date we are doing a bit of reflection post 2026 season and seeing how we can ensure our trips continue to evolve.

Welsh Government have reopened the consultation on the 182-day threshold, following concerns that it closed at 5pm on Friday 23 October rather than midnight.

The new deadline is 11.59pm on Friday 30 October 2026.

We raised this with Welsh Government over the weekend and are grateful for their prompt and positive response. Thank you for listening and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to have their say.

📣 Care about tourism in Wales? Please make your voice heard by Friday 23 October.

The Welsh Government is consulting on the rules that determine whether self-catering accommodation qualifies for business rates. We’re asking for a realistic threshold of 105 nights actually let and 210 days available.

The standard requirements in England are 70 nights let and 140 available. In Wales, they are 182 nights let and 252 available. Even our proposed 105-night threshold would remain substantially higher than England’s.

That is a huge hurdle for seasonal businesses. It can discourage investment and put pressure on owners to fill nights at prices that don’t sustain their business. We believe it is holding back Welsh tourism.

🏡 Own a self-catering property? Please respond even if you think you could qualify for an exemption. The exemptions are proposals, and the final definitions will matter. You cannot assume you will qualify. Your neighbouring accommodation businesses also need a fair threshold—and the health of the whole destination matters to everyone.

🍽️ Run a pub, café, shop, attraction, activity business or supply service? Your voice matters too. Guests spend beyond their accommodation. Explain how staying visitors support your business and what fewer visitors could mean for you.

You don’t have to own accommodation to care about this. Friends, colleagues, residents and everyone who values tourism can contribute their own perspective.

Please ask for **105 nights let and 210 days available**, explain why it matters to you, and encourage your contacts to respond. A modest reduction to 154 nights would still leave a very high hurdle.

Conditions are exceptionally dry throughout the National Park. Just one spark can start a fire that spreads rapidly, threatening people, wildlife, habitats and some of our most precious landscapes.

If you are spending time outdoors:
🚫 Do not light any fires, including campfires
🚫 Do not use disposable or portable barbecues. Pack a picnic instead
🚫 Do not set off fireworks or release sky lanterns
🚭 Extinguish ci******es fully and never discard them on the ground
