We are trying to train our Pygmy goats to walk on a lead and harness.

We thought this would be another great animal experience to add to the our collection of animal activities.

The goats need to be on board with it though and that is definitely work in progress.

Fudge has taken well to it but Snowball and Oreo are still hesitant.

Here a rather relaxed Fudge is showing Snowball the ropes. Snowball is appreciating a bite of fresh grass whilst Smokey watches over keeping order.

Hansel the pet lamb wants to join in and steals the show at the end with his sense of humour….

There is so much to see and do on a Laigh Hapton Farm holiday.

Spring and summer is when the animals really take centre stage.

You can wander round the farm at your leisure, book a guided tour or just relax in your hot tub, garden or decking and enjoy the antics of the animals around you.

Here are a few pictures from a guest who stayed last weekend. She booked a last minute getaway after having been let down on another stay and thoroughly enjoyed her relaxing break.

I love it when we get return guests

People who love the farm as much as we do and come back time after time to enjoy the peace and relaxation.

Neil and his family, including Flash the dog have stayed with us a few times at the Chaff House.

They stayed for a week again this year at the end of May and I was away at a training camp with my horse when they left so I never managed to see them away.

Neil sent me this lovely message and some photos of them enjoying their stay

“Hi Angela, thanks for another perfect week of relaxation, we loved it as always and your boys are a credit to you.
I’ve never see Flash so relaxed as when he comes to Chaff House. Here’s a few pics, feel free to use them if you want”

Some of our guests choose to leave on line reviews and others like to leave a lovely note in the visitor book.

I have been away for a couple of days with my horse Casino at a training camp so I have left my guests in the capable hands of my expert team.

If you haven’t experienced a “Ryan” farm tour, you are definitely missing out. He puts his own personality, along with his funny stories and extensive knowledge of the animals into a great wee package for our guests to enjoy.

He also coaches in the riding school and uses his special brand of charm combined with his international Mounted Games competition experience to make things really special for our customers.

I think the reviews left just yesterday make this quite clear!!

What is this strange shaped animal?

Have you ever seen the like before?

Chat GPT thinks it is a bison 🦬 😂😂

To be more specific, an American Bison 😂

I can assure you we have loads of lovely animals on the farm but we don’t have any bison.

What is it really?

Did you know we have an amazing colour changing peacock?

One of the attractions of coming to our cottages is seeing the animals around the farm.

If you are lucky Junior the peacock will chill on your decking or rest on the hot tub cover if he’s not busy showing off his stunning tail - he really is a bit of a poser!!

But did you know that he changes colour from blue to green 💙🦚💚

These two photographs were taken in the same day. I’m no scientist but have noticed when it’s wet he definitely looks more green and in dry weather he is a striking blue.

There is a technical explanation for it - apparently due to structural colouration and optical
interference 🤷‍♀️ but I think he looks stunning whatever the weather
