November in Eryri 🍂

It's not all rain, wind and fog up here. November can also bring some absolutely cracking days. Crisp air, clear skies and views that go on for miles.

A little reminder that the mountains are still well worth exploring this time of year. And days like this make getting out of bed that little bit easier!

You just ask for a packed lunch, and next thing you know, you're heading home with four extra flapjacks in your bag. 😂

Don't worry, we're not naming names. Just make sure you eat them all before you get home, or the kids will never let you forget it! 🤫

We're getting towards the end of our 2026 season now.

November is our last month of weekends before we shut the doors for a few months and start attacking the DIY list.

We've still got a few beds available for 6/7 and 20/21 November if you're tempted by a late-season welsh weekend.

If you've never stayed with us before, here's a little look around Lodge Dinorwig.

14 beds, one shared bunk room, a very cosy lounge and breakfast included.

It doesn't really matter to us whether this is your first mountain or your twentieth.

Some guests arrive wanting to tick off their first hike up Yr Wyddfa. Others have been up half the peaks in Wales and are here because there's still a ridge they haven't explored.

Both are very much our sort of guest.

When you stay with us, the lounge is yours too.

A place to sit down with a coffee and work out tomorrow’s route, spread a map across the table, chat with other guests about where they’ve been, or simply curl up in an armchair with a book.

There’s space to be sociable, space to plan your next adventure, and space to do absolutely nothing for a while.

After a day out in the mountains, sometimes you just need somewhere cosy to come back to.

A lot of sandwiches go out of the kitchen.

Our packed lunches are made and packed here at the hostel, ready for you to grab on your way out and take with you for the day.

No need to find a shop before you hit the hills. Just tell us what you’d like, pick it up in the morning and get on with the important bit:

We built the bunks, added the curtains for a bit of privacy, and gave everyone their own reading light, plug socket, and shelf.

It’s simple, comfortable and made for what most people come here to do: get a good night’s sleep, get up, have some breakfast and head out into the mountains.

So, have a look around. This is the room we’ve built for you.

Take Tryfan, for example.

You can see Adam and Eve sitting up there in the distance, but you don’t have to climb over the top to enjoy a brilliant day in the mountains.

One of our favourite things about staying in Eryri midweek is having the freedom to pick your adventure when you arrive.

Fancy going for the summit? Go for it.

Want something quieter? Try one of the lesser-known trails.

Cloud sitting on the tops? There are plenty of beautiful routes that wind around the mountains rather than straight over them.

And that’s why we love September. The crowds start to thin out, the days are still long enough for a proper adventure, and you can take your time.

Come for a few nights, wake up here, check the weather over breakfast and decide where your feet are taking you.

There’s enough to think about when you’re heading to the mountains. Food shouldn’t be one of them.

So we do all the cooking for you!

Wake up to a proper cooked breakfast, grab your packed lunch and head out for the day. Come back tired, muddy and hungry, and we’ll have a homecooked dinner waiting for you.

All you need to do is:

Show up.
Eat.
Go exploring.
Come back.
Eat again.
Sleep.
Repeat.

No supermarket runs. No cooking. No washing up. Just good food and more time to enjoy Eryri.

That’s our kind of adventure.
