We love seeing our guests make the most of their time away, and Ben’s recent holiday at Doddie Weir House was clearly full of joy. One of the highlights of Ben’s trip was heading down to beautiful Yellowcraigs Beach! Thanks to the manual beach wheelchair kept right at the house 🏖️. This specialty beach wheelchair belongs to the house and is completely free for any of our guests to use during their stay.
When he wasn't down by the coast, Ben loved relaxing in the bright conservatory, soaking up the stunning views and spotting some of our local East Lothian wildlife. 🐦

I took one final early morning wander around these 15 stunning lighthouses before they head off to auction this Friday! 🌊✨

The lawn here at Leuchie won't quite be the same without them.

I know some of our our guests staying at Doddie Weir House and Glen View accessible caravan have loved visiting them over the summer 😍

A massive good luck to the amazing Leuchie fundraising team! 💚 They have put an immense amount of work over the last year into making this trail such a phenomenal success. We are wishing them a fantastic, record-breaking night at the Grand Auction to raise vital funds Leuchie.

Planning a family day out during your stay at Woodside, our accessible caravan in Wooler?

Just a very short distance away is Scotts Play Park. Following a major £150,000 upgrade in August 2025, it is now a fully inclusive, accessible play space.

Facilities at the play park include - Wheelchair swings & roundabout, ramp-accessed play frame, and a large multi-activity climbing unit with smooth ramped access. There is also an in-ground trampoline - an ability trampoline set flush into the turf for seamless access, a sensory play panel, and a newly redeveloped toilet block featuring an accessible toilet and changing area.

Scotts Park is a barrier-free community space perfect for a picnic and an afternoon of fun!👇

🌟 Exciting changes are coming to Thurston Manor! 🌟

We’ve got some exciting news to share with our Glen View guests! 💚

Thurston Manor is investing £4 million in the park, with major improvements planned over the winter and continuing through to Easter 2027. It’s fantastic to see investment going into the park and we’re really looking forward to seeing the changes take shape! 🏗️✨

A little reminder, though — Glen View Accessible Caravan will remain OPEN throughout the winter season, and Thurston Manor itself will remain open too. However, while the work is underway, there will be very limited facilities available on the park.

We know that the facilities are an important part of your holiday, so we’ve taken this into consideration and have adjusted our prices for the remainder of 2026 to reflect the reduced facilities available. Use the code 20OFF to receive a further 20% discount on 2026 prices.

That means you can still enjoy a relaxing and accessible break at Glen View, explore the beautiful East Lothian countryside and coastline, and make the most of everything the local area has to offer — while benefiting from our reduced prices. 🌊🌿
