🐴❤️ Horsey parents… once they've caught the bug, there's no going back! 😂🐎

It all started with a pony party for Melody's 5th birthday… and she's been horse mad ever since! ❤️

The last few months have been quite the adventure! We attended our first Horse of the Year in Birmingham and loved sharing Melody's passion. 🐴✨

She's also been competing in the Havana Shows league, and to our absolute shock and delight, finished JOINT FIRST! 🏆🥹 We couldn't be prouder!

❤️ A special shout-out to Havana Shows! If you're looking for a showing league for your child, we couldn't recommend them enough. Wonderful sportsmanship, encouragement and camaraderie from such a lovely mix of people, young and old. They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel part of the family. 🥰

And horses aren't her only obsession! 🐥 Our gorgeous Brahma chick, Scream, hatched last week and is convinced Melody is her mummy! 😂❤️

Between running Hawthorn Hideaway, looking after our guests and being horsey parents, life is certainly busy!

But watching the joy on Melody's face makes every muddy boot, early morning and freezing day worthwhile. ❤️

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones we experience through our children's eyes. 🥹

🇳🇬❤️ BLACK HISTORY MONTH – A LITTLE PIECE OF MY STORY ❤️🇳🇬

Some of you may not know that I was born in Nigeria, a country with an extraordinary history, beautiful traditions and a culture bursting with colour, music, food and life! 🥰

As it's Black History Month, I thought I'd share a little about my heritage and our wedding. ❤️

🇳🇬 Did you know Nigeria is only 66 years old as an independent nation?

Nigeria gained independence from British colonial rule on 1st October 1960. But its people, kingdoms and civilisations have histories stretching back thousands of years!

And here's something that might surprise you…

🇳🇬 Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups and more than 500 languages!

The three largest are the Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo, but there are hundreds more, each with their own beautiful traditions.

❤️ What makes Nigeria so special?

For me, it's the warmth of the people, family, community, colourful clothing, music, celebrations and, of course, the FOOD! 😋

And Nigerians certainly know how to celebrate! Weddings are full of dancing, laughter, magnificent outfits and enough food to feed a small army! 😂💃🏾

❤️ When Ronnie and I married, we celebrated both our cultures in style!

Friday was our traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony. 🇳🇬

Saturday was our English wedding. 🇬🇧

And because two wedding outfits clearly weren't enough, we changed into our THIRD outfit on Saturday evening, back into Nigerian traditional attire! 😂🥰

Two days, two cultures, three outfits and a whole lot of love! ❤️

In this photograph, I'm wearing my traditional outfit and gele (headwrap), while Ronnie embraced my heritage in his Nigerian attire. Didn't he look handsome! 🥰

I'm proud to have been born Nigerian, proud of my roots and grateful that our family embraces two beautiful cultures.

Black History Month is about remembering the past, celebrating the present and sharing the stories that make us who we are.

And this is a little piece of mine. 🇳🇬❤️

❤️ Sometimes, you just have to steal a little moment from life… 🥹🌿

A couple cancelled their sauna session this morning, so rather than let it go to waste, Ronnie and I decided that a little self-care was exactly what we needed right now. ❤️

And goodness, we needed it!

We sat together in the warmth, watching the ducks glide along the water, chatting about life and simply enjoying being together. No phones, no rushing, no worries for a little while. Just us and nature. 🥰

Of course, I decided to brave the outdoor cold shower… cue LOTS of screaming! 😱😂 Ronnie then had a go and didn't make a single peep! Show-off! 🙄😂

Despite being in pain, Ronnie was determined to venture out and enjoy some time in the sauna. He's hopeful there may be benefits for people living with cancer, and sometimes just feeling that warmth, peace and relaxation is reason enough. ❤️

Life has a funny way of reminding you just how precious the simplest moments are.

Not every memory needs to be a grand adventure. Sometimes it's sitting quietly beside the person you love, watching the world go by, laughing together and forgetting life's worries, even if only for an hour.

Sometimes, the little moments are actually the big ones. 🤍
