What a fabulous way to spend Sunday!

Today was my first workshop in Fochabers, as part of the ARTS for Wellbeing Moray Wellbeing festival, and it was a sellout 💕

I was joined by 8 lovely ladies and we had a great time weaving, chatting and being creative 💕

As one participant left she told me, “this is the best thing I’ve ever made!” and that made my day!

Today was vaccination day for all of our sheep 💉
Blue tongue is a horrible virus, which has been working its way northwards up the UK. It’s spread by midges who carry it, and it causes high fever, painful mouth ulcers, severe lameness, swelling of the face and neck, breathing difficulties, and can lead to death in the worst cases 😢
So, although our sheep weren’t too pleased with me injecting them with the vaccine, not doing so could be so much worse! ☠️
To be fair, they still wanted cuddles moments after 😂

This time next Sunday I’ll be setting up in Fochabers for my next weaving workshop. Just a few places remain… 🔗 the link to book is in the comments 🔗

Spend the afternoon learning how to weave on a peg loom using local sheep’s fleece… it’s relaxing craft and you’ll get to take your creation home with you!

This workshop is part of the Moray Wellbeing Festival… being creative and learning a new skill is so good for your mental health!

I love taking on bespoke commissions! These are a selection of recent ones I’ve completed 🌈🤍🤎🐑

I can either use fleece from my (vast!) collection of local fleeces, or use fleece from customer’s own sheep.

I work closely with customers, keeping them updated on progress and involving them with decisions all the way through. So every wall hanging, rug or seat pad is totally unique 💙

This November I’m running two workshops in partnership with the Moray Wellbeing Festival 💙 ARTS for Wellbeing

We’ll spend an afternoon learning to weave on a peg loom with sheep’s fleece from local farms.

The repetitive process of weaving allows your brain to relax, the soft textures of the fleece feel lovely in your hands and the satisfaction of creating your own unique rug to take home is so rewarding 💙

Seven years ago today Adelaide and Tia arrived with us. Both rescued from a difficult early life by World Horse Welfare they quickly became part of our family 🧡🤍🖤

We’ve been getting great feedback for our walker’s wool!

Using locally sourced, carded fleece on your feet (under your socks) can prevent and relieve foot blisters, hot spots, and toe friction.

It works by reducing friction, absorbing moisture and cushioning pressure. It even integrates with your socks: as you walk, the loose fleece lightly binds and fuses with your sock, which keeps it securely in place without rolling or bunching!

On Wednesday 7th October I’m coming to the The Green Hall with my looms, lots of beautiful, local sheep’s fleece and I need your creativity!

This workshop is part of a series of workshops being organised as part of Creative Tomintoul. An informal group that has come together through Tomintoul250, it aims to celebrate and promote the creativity of Tomintoul and the surrounding area.

So, using fleece from farms local to Tomintoul, let’s create some beautiful art!

What an amazing response to my ‘mini Lettoch sheep to take home’ idea!

These are approx 6cm across mini sheep, wrapped in the fleece from our own sheep. They have a badge clasp on the back so you can wear them if you wish.
